“Thanks for a Wonderful Stay!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 28, 2013

We spent four nights at the Made Inn, and it has to be the best place we ever stayed in. We had room 905, a big airy space with windows on two sides and a view down to the lake. It came equipped with an old-fashioned record player and a big box or records, with more just outside in the hallway. There was also a video player, which we did not use, and a big TV, which we did. Being Irish, it was fascinating to watch the government shutdown being played out on Fox News and MSNBC, stations we normally only get second hand glimpses of on the Daily Show (which is available in Ireland). I also got to see one of my favourite shows ever, the Colbert Report!

Many of the reviews here pay tribute to Linda, the designer and host, and every word is true. She is funny, larger than life, and take great interest in her guests. The other staff were wonderful too, especially the lady who's name we did not get, but I'm guessing is called Jana, as she said that her father was Norwegian. We mentioned that our son wanted us to bring him home some blue rock candy (don't ask!), and the next morning she presented us with a big bag of it, which she had gone out and bought!

Breakfasts were amazing, and an introduction to American cuisine - cream cheese and lox on a bagel, biscuits and sausage gravy, canadian maple bacon and eggs - delicious! The gales of laughter that would come from the kitchen when these were being prepared indicated a happy workplace.

While there we visited (at Linda's suggestion) the Shelburne Museum of Americana (very good), the Ben and Jerry factory (great fun), Champlain Chocolates (delicious but expensive), Stowe, and we cycled the length of the Burlington lakeside cycle path (beautiful and not too difficult).

My husband and I stayed at this lovely inn for a fall weekend. The inn is a beautiful Victorian, lovingly restored. Our room was large, though surprisingly, the furniture did not fit the style of the house. The only negative was having to walk down the hall to access our private bathroom. Otherwise, the innkeeper made us feel so very welcome, was available at all times, and provided a delicious full breakfast!

My husband and I stayed at the Made INN for one night, celebrating our anniversary. We absolutely adored our beautiful room, the free goodies in the fridge, and the wonderful fresh breakfast. Linda, the amazing and charming inkeeper, was a pleasure to talk with. When she heard that we were celebrating, she left romantic candles and chocolates in our room when we went out for dinner! We can't wait to come back.

I take a trip each year with my mother and this inn, hands down, is the most unusual and memorable for us. Linda, the innkeeper, was funny, entertaining, warm and attentive. The other staff members also were just lovely. That I could play a Led Zeppelin album on a record player in our room was an added unexpected bonus. We could eat as much or as little as we wanted to at breakfast, and they even offered, unsolicited, off-menu items to suit our tastes. The inn is visually exciting with all kinds of interesting objects.

I'm hoping to go back next year and will bring a couple of my siblings with me.

This is the Inn that ruined all other hotels, inns, and B&B's for me, it was that good!
Stayed here in the smallest room for our honeymoon and were astounded by the top-notch service and cozy amenities. Linda & the rest of the staff were so warm and welcoming, they even brought sangria and local beer (Heady Topper!) up to our room when we arrived! The room had a great chalkboard wall, stocked mini fridge, and comfy bed. We loved all of the little extra details - matching robes & slippers, little electric tealights, cozy throw blankets, guitars and record players, board games etc.
The bathrooms are down the hall but private (you have your own bathroom with key), and were super clean and friendly!
The rest of the inn is packed with fun eclectic decor, lots of cool books and vintage games to browse through while snacking on some cookies and tea or coffee (available all day).
Breakfast was hands-down the best breakfast I've had at a B&B. Each meal started off with some fresh-squeezed orange juice. The menu changed daily, but always included tasty maple bacon and country potatoes. I had the best crepes of my life here - maple marscapone with caramelized bananas and apples. Wow.
We will definitely be coming back, and I've already recommended this inn to all of my friends planning trips to VT.

Green Features: Loved the eco-friendly toiletries in the bathrooms!

Charming B&B in great location. Wonderful quirky decor with all sorts of things to look at--old games, lots of books, dvds, musical instruments. Helpful owner and staff with recommendations for local good times. Very comfortable room with luscious face fur throw you'll want to take with you--but don't. Some rooms larger than others. Didn't get a chance to try the hot tub but it looked great.

My husband and I were on a weekend getaway, no reservations....we happened to see this great B&B. Linda, the owner was wonderful offering us drinks as we waited to see if a room was available.
We ended up in the room on the 1st floor, with it's own private bathroom and shower. The room was great, huge windows to let in the fresh air, funky decor, snacks in the fridge in the room. Like all the other reviews, the breakfast was excellent made with fresh produce from Vermont.
Would definitely recommend it and hopefully return one day
