“Beautiful Get-away - a definite return”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 28, 2012

My boyfriend and I wanted a quick get-away right before Christmas and this was the perfect spot to do that. The Inn is located just a 7 minute walk to Church St and actually has beautiful views of Lake Champlain (unfortunately the days we spent there were cloudy and rainy so we didn't get to see much of this). The Inn itself is spacious but cozy, with a modern decor and style but has kept its old Victorian beauty as well. There are tons of board games to play, fashion, architecture and other artsy-type magazines and books to check out, and tons of chotchkes to explore in the living room. The dining room is beautiful, with plenty of coffee, tea and snacks to hold one over. Though the weather wasn't great, we also loved the outdoor space in the back and especially the hot tub! There is even a heated Widow's Walk in which you can see 360 degree views of the area, including the Lake. Pretty romantic and sweet up there.
We lucked out in being the only visitors at the Inn and Linda, the owner, was super flexible and accommodating. Her breakfast was amazing - cheesy eggs, caramelized turkey bacon and the BEST french toast I think I've ever had! Plus granola and fruit and an assortment of pastries. I basically licked my plate and finished my boyfriend's as well. It was also nice that since it was just us, she was able to ask what we wanted to eat and at what time.
Our room was great - a little on the smaller side, we took the least expensive room, 903. It was warm, comfortable and had all the amenities we could have needed - TV and DVD player, fridge stocked with water, juice, and soda, and 2 awesome robes, and a chalkboard wall. The bed also had colorful lights underneath which added some nice mood lighting and was, in general, just fabulous.
Overall, a wonderful stay at Made Inn and we are eager to return in the summer. Linda was sweet and friendly, accommodating and engaging; the atmosphere was perfect and the food phenomenal.

Are you into great eclectic interior design, an insanely renovated Victorian House, vermont food, vintage albums, out of print art books, views to Lake Champlain, over-the-top generosity, a short walk into downtown Burlington, a killer hot-tub, and overall amazing taste? Then look no further as it would be impossible to find a better place to stay then Made Inn Vermont. Linda, the Inn keeper was AWESOME! The attention to detail is impeccable. This Inn made for the best X-mas for my wife and I ever!! Dont miss it!!

Room Tip: Room 904 is killer + it has colored neon lights under the bed!!

The Vermont inn B&B is the perfect place to enjoy your stay in burlington. The house is beautiful, so elegant, with a perfect decoration and a unique style. It is also well located, only few bloc of all restaurants and activities. Linda, your hoster, will provide you many good advises and make sure all is going perfectly well. The breakfast was also a very experience, the meal was delicious and the dinning room provides a so lovely atmosphere. In conclusion, a must to stay in Burlington!

I stayed at this gorgeous little place in Burlington for a few days, and i can't wait to go back. The house was amazing, plenty of places to hang out and read with a cup of coffee. I throughly enjoyed the widow walk, where you can see a beautiful view of Lake Champlain, and the city of Burlington. Linda was a very gracious and polite host, she was a joy to be around, and made the stay even more fun. She had lots of information about around town and place to visit and eat. I am planning on a trip back there again soon. side note, i fell in love with the two resident cats...

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Made Inn Vermont. Generally, that phrase is clichéd, but in this case, it really was a pleasure. The innkeeper, Linda, greeted us at the door (we arrived just at the end of the check-in time because we went the scenic route…), and was incredibly effervescent – you could tell she was proud of the inn, and with good reason.

I already was regretting that we were only staying for one night as soon as I walked in the door. We had the place to ourselves that night, since we were staying in the middle of the week, and while we didn’t spend too much time there, the public areas were well-furnished with games, movies, chairs, magazines, anything you could want to pass the time away.

The décor was amazing – the paintings and sculptures around the house are made by her daughter, and I would love to have some of them in my own home. Some are quite reminiscent of “Sandman,” by Neil Gaiman, and that is some high praise coming from me.

And the kitchen – oh man, the kitchen! It’s self-service for coffee and tea and snacks – there are glasses if you want to bring your own drinks (we had just picked up some Cold Hollow Cider, yum), and there are mini fridges and more snacks in the room. Funny story – we grabbed some Naked drinks on the drive up, and the exact same flavors were in our fridge when we got there. Now that is service. :D

We got there too late to experience the sunset from the widow’s walk, but we had breakfast up there the next morning, and it was gorgeous. This is the one time I wish it would thunderstorm on vacation – that would be an awesome place to watch a storm. But I’m getting ahead of myself…

Our room, 903, is the smallest one, but it was perfectly comfortable. The beds are awesome, the lighting is perfect, and the heater was small but powerful (and quiet!) We got to pick our bathroom, and we chose one with a shower, although the claw-foot tubs were adorable. The only qualm I have is here – no idea how to get the water temperature at a good level. It was either too hot or too cold. But I think that may be user error on my part… so I guess this is more of a heads up that you need to play around with it. Pressure was perfect, and the shampoo and soap smelled awesome.

We showered after going in the hot tub, which was in a gated back area with strings of lights around – it was incredibly relaxing. Definitely try it out – while we were in there, it started to rain a little bit, which was actually not as bad as it sounds – it was rather fun. Hot tub itself was great – Linda told us we could use it whenever, so we went down around 10 or 11 and it was on for us.

Now, the next morning. Breakfast was fantastic. We got down there around 9, and Linda was just finishing stuff up, so she recommended getting some coffee and pastries and going up to the widow’s walk for a while. We did so, and right when we were about to go downstairs to eat, she brought it up to us. Nicest. Woman. Ever. Also, fantastic chef. Everything was delicious.

Overall, this was one of the best decisions I have ever made for a vacation. The location was fantastic - just a short walk away from Church Street. We will definitely be back – this isn’t just a place to stay when we visit Vermont, this is now a reason to visit again.

We had a wonderful and comfortable stay at Made Inn Vermont, a place with unique charm both in terms of the actual house but also from our great hosts. A perfect place to stay for any weekend away in Burlington. Not only is it a cool and funky house with special charm, but everything functions properly for such a beautiful old house!!! The location cannot be better, everything in downtown is very walkable.

We stayed in mid-October 2012 and had a wonderful time at Made Inn Vermont. We stayed in room 905 - we loved it, very comfortable and clean, with a stocked fridge of speciality snacks (maple beef jerky!) and assorted drinks. We reserved the bathroom with the claw-foot bath tub and it was terrific, wonderful lavender bath salts. Breakfasts were delicious. Linda and Jessica were great- anything we needed help with, we got. It was a very refreshing change from the more standard B&Bs in the area- MIV has its own unique character and vibe. And it is in a perfect location for walking into town for dinner- we never drove. Would definitely stay again!
