“Great way to start a tour of the city”
Reviewed July 11, 2012

There is convenient parking right near the science museum in the waterfront park. The park area itself is pretty small but very scenic and very close to the downtown area (Main street, downtown area, and Church Street Marketplace). It is an uphill walk to get into town, however. There was a great ice cream stand there (Creemee) that is next to the science museum.

There is a bike path that runs through the waterfront area but unsure how long it goes on for. It should be part of the Burlington Bike Path.

“Great sunsets”
Reviewed July 9, 2012

Best place to begin a visit. We started with cheap parking close to the waterfront. Then, we cruised Lake Champlain with the Spirit of Ethan Allen III. They served food and drinks making our cruise comfortable and romantic. Afterward, we enjoyed a beautiful sunset over the water. From here, we took the free bus up the hill to Church St for dinner.

“Happening”

There are interesting restaurants. A plethora of offerings including a science center, sailing, boat tours, bike path, restaurants and great places just to relax. Reasonably priced kayak rentals.

“A beautiful break from all the walking”
Reviewed June 25, 2012

The waterfront is beautiful. There's a wooden boardwalk along the shore it has bench swings and stationary swings along the walk to stop and watch. There is a good sized grassed knoll just behind these benches. We often bring a blanket and sit out for a few hours, when we are tired of shopping. There's a bike trail, a clean restroom. Parking can be expensive but there' usuallu street parking avaiable. Be sure to grab a "maple Creemie" while your down there at the lake.
