“Wonderful in every way”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 29, 2012

I arrived very late after a long drive and a long flight, and although late they still managed to rustle up some outstanding local cheeses and made us very welcome. It was good enough to go back for lunch the next day and again the food is very good, service is outstanding, value for money is excellent. Well recommended and I understand why this is a firm favourite with my colleagues in Burlington.

“Great beer selection & staff.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 26, 2012

Visited the Farmhouse for their "HOPtober" Beer Event in October which had an amazing selection of big, hoppy IPA's including a wide variety of VT beers (Alchemist, Lawson's, RockArt, Hill Farmstead). I had been there before for beer and appetizers and had some tasty local cheeses to go with my samplings. Beers are available in either full of half portions if you want to try a few and the staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. Visit the downstairs "Parlor" if it is open, it was very warm and comfortable. Haven't been for a full dinner yet but am looking forward to it!

“Amazing beer bar”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 25, 2012 via mobile

Unfortunately we didn't eat here. We stopped by after dinner because the beer menu is supposed to be great. It didn't disappoint.

The bartenders were extremely friendly and helpful. They would give samples even if you weren't ordering. They knew the beers not by name but the different qualities.

The meet thing is they offer half beers so you can sample more of them.

They had the local VT beers - Lawson finest , Hill Farm, and the alchemist. Also founders and other top beers.

Next I'll order food.

“Beer Lovers Paradise...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 19, 2012

Went here after a meal at Flatbread - largely to sample the beers as we had already eaten.

I am told the food is really good - relying on and specialising in local food.

Sampled a number of beers - all were extremely good - though guess what? Too cold for this Brit.

Simply stunning beer list that ran to pages with loads of draught and huge range in bottles.

If you like beer it's a no brainer.

“Pricey but great local, natural food & beers”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 15, 2012

We went to the Farmhouse on a Tuesday night...and there was a wait. So we went into the basement bar and by the time we ordered our beers a table was ready for us-great timing! The menu was filled with intriguing and tasty-sounding things, but we settled on a local bacon burger with AMAZING hand-cut fries!! and pulled pork with cornbread and coleslaw. They tell you which farms contributed which food items, which is fun. They brew their own beers, which were delicious. And they even make their own condiments (although I preferred the fries without ketchup for once-so good!)! They were obviously busy, but the service was friendly and relatively quick. I was so full but decided to ask about the desserts and was lured into a pumpkin cheesecake based on the waitress's incredibly positive reaction-and it was worth every calorie (and penny)! The food wasn't anything too special in my opinion, but I liked that it was local and natural. The beer and dessert made it all worthwhile! The one drawback was the huge window in the front of the restaurant-this seems to be common in Burlington...but it makes the restaurant FREEZING. I hate eating meals when I'm cold :( But that happens everywhere, I guess.
