“Proud of their gluten free mediocre pastries but DO NOT ask for soy!”
Reviewed December 3, 2012

Several things about this coffee shop are not what you would expect. First bring your computer fully charged, they do not encourage long says, evident by the covered outlets. Two, visit this coffee shop when you want to listen to loud non-coffee shop music, such as moody 90's music. (and not the good kind) Third, don't expect a love for coffee and don't be fooled by the huge roaster by the door. This is not a place that will pull your shot twice. DO expect to be chided for asking for soy milk. Even though the actual drink will be made incorrectly, asking for soy will suddenly tap into their coffee making passion and they will take angry pleasure in announcing 'soy doesn't foam!' ( this is not a Red Onion situation, where the sandwiches are so delicious the cranky staff becomes part of the experience.) This is unpleasent staff meets less than desirable food/drink meets angry loud music. A caricature of a coffee shop.
If you are looking for a good local coffee shop experience walk down to Muddy Waters, or visit ( for a truly impeccably made esspresso) the Blue Bird coffee cart or stop by Speeder and Earls or visit Champlain Chocolates....

“Amazing coffee selection , laid back ambiance”
Reviewed October 14, 2012

Nice little laid back coffee and tea shop. Most of the stores, restaurants, and cafes i have been to in Vermont have this laid back comfort of home feel to them and Uncommon Grounds delivers. Quick and speedy service, big menu display board written in chalk behind the cashiers. Always seems to be a line in this place but it goes relatively quick. Friendly staff, wide selection of Coffee flavors (all of them are pretty good) Did not get the tea here but one of my friends who had it said it was superb. Also i ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE WHITE HOT CHOCOLATE THEY SERVE HERE! i would suggest getting it no matter what season it is (fall, summer, spring doesn't matter) it's absolutely amazing, probably the best hot chocolate i have ever had at least so far in my life.

“Best Coffee”
Reviewed October 11, 2012

Loved this little place - the coffee was great and cheap, unlike the chain across the way. Friendly staff.
