We visited Burlington in the holidays and it was very nice. This beautiful university town is full of good restaurants that encourages local producers. Church Street is a beautiful pedestrian street that counts many boutiques, cafes and restaurants.

I will definitely go back.

There seemed to be plenty of places to park and we always found at least one place to go. There are lots of shops, bars, pubs, food, coffee, etc. The lights at night were very cute and it is very central to lots of other restaurants and shops to visit.

The last time that I had time to spend on Church Street was in August, 2013. The was a Festival of Fools going on with jokers and jugglers on every corner. There was some crazy band dressed as sea creatures playing on one stage and many restaurants and bars had live entertainment. The festival gave a fun and festive downtown area an even more festive atmosphere. I didn't go into to many shops, but did sit outside sipping chardonnay and listening to a local musician. Later we went to a restaurant off Church Street for a quirky dinner. On Sunday morning, in a slight drizzle, we went to a corner restaurant on Church St. It reminded us of New Orleans for some reason. Overall, this is a great place to people watch and hear some nice local music.

Church street is a place that is fun to walk up and down with a cup of coffee or cocoa from a local shop. Window shop, or pop into a store for a browse. There is a great selection of Vermont-crafted products for home or as great gifts. The variety of restaurants and eateries are many and very satisfying. Stop at City Hall Park and people-watch, enjoy the fountain, or during the holidays, the lights are very pretty against the freshly fallen snow.

Nothing like taking a walk down Church Street, regardless of the season, people watching, eating delicious food and getting some shopping done. There are some magical boutiques on the street, side streets to explore, coffee shops plenty, and the lake right nearby!

Thank filozof
