This is definitely the heart of the city, the place where everything happens. On the Saturday that we went, the entire Church Street is packed with a crowd, enjoying both the local and franchise shops, street vendors, street shows and the pleasure of a pedestrian mall. The red-brick buildings, red-brick walk all adds to the charm.

This is the place to go when you are in Burlington.
Saturdays are amazing............there are flea markets, food stalls,,,,,street performers and amazing people watching spots all over the area.
It is a beautiful old section of town. The buildings and storefronts are as interesting as the contents that they have inside.
You can walk around and explore or find a nice sunny or shady spot and just watch the people flow all around you.
One of the more fun activities to do while in Burlington.
If you have a chance.....try the Jamaica Dlites food stall......amazing Jerked Chicken and beans and rice.........YUM!!!!

The market on saturdays...LOVED IT. If you are into creativity and artsy crafts this is a MUST SEE. I really enjoyed seeing the talents of different artists there. They have a mix of foods and art. I ended up buying several things, including a carved out piece of wood in the shape of vermont with a heart in the middle (I loved it).

Several pedestrian blocks filled with shops and restaurants. We were there on Columbus Day weekend, and there were still many sidewalk cafes. Had a lovely lunch and lots of people watching. Fun to go in and out of the many shops. Parking is free for the first two hours in select lots in the city.

Burlington had a choice of letting the downtown go to hell or doing something brilliant. Burlington chose Brilliant and that made all the difference. The Marketplace is accessible, attractive, appropriate. I've been there at many different times of day, and it is always lively. Lots of great stores, shops, and restaurants of course. More towns should figure out that walk-friendly access makes all the difference.
