“Beautiful rooms, Lots for kids”
Reviewed July 10, 2014

We stayed in a 2 bedroom villa. The villa was huge. Full sized living room, kitchen and dining room with balcony on the lower level, and loft, 2 bathrooms and 2 bedrooms on the upper level. There is not a lot around the area, so a great place for relaxation. The resort did keep the teens (ages 12 and 15) entertained with free nightly movies in the on-site theater with all you can eat free popcorn, an arcade, pool tables, darts, swimming and hiking. The kids had a great time.

Room Tip: It is best to get a villa in the main building, because the restaurant, movie theater, arcade and gi...

This was our second time staying at this hotel. We love visiting Vermont in the fall and have had great experiences with this hotel. The rooms are spacious and well decorated. The views are stunning. Breakfast has a great variety and is very tasty. We have eaten at the restaurant as well and that was great. The pool and gym are very nice as well. The hotel is in driving distance from many places such as Woodstock, Quiche Gorge, and Ludlow. We will always stay here on our visits to Vermont.

This resort feels like it needs a major renovation. The pool and fitness center were located in a dingy building down the road in a facility that was used by locals. Many buildings on the property appeared to need some work and at least one building was abandoned. The food in the tavern was forgettable but there aren't a lot of options nearby. Overall nothing to do in the area. Too far from Burlington and major sights or attractions. Lots of problems with the room - internet doesn't work, phone reception was poor in the entire area, unit not clean, unit amenities and features not the same as other holiday inn club resorts.

Was a pleasant surprise to be upgraded to a 2 bedroom suite with a full kitchen and living room. Used platinum status, was worth it. It was the last stop on our 8 state road trip. So the extra space gave me and my 2 children a nice relaxing evening to chill and prepare for our 431 mile drive home the next day. The hotel were attentive and the room was clean and well maintained. Very comfy. Was nice to have free laundry also. 2 bathroom was also so nice to have. Yes is the off season, nice place to go to escape.

Yea the wifi was poor, but really, unplug and relax, enjoy nature the atmosphere of the area, was a nice place to recharge.

And the outside pool, was dirty and cold, I wouldn't try to swim in it in June. The indoor pool was ok, kind of on the cooler side also.

The Tavern was ok, the food was good, the waitress was a little lax and it took her a while to take our order, she just didn't seem very friendly.

The breakfast in the morning was kind of blah, the pancakes must have been microwaved too much and were hard. I only had 2 vouchers so I paid, although they don't really offer much and prob would be better just to have it free for everyone.

For the price I paid was very pleased.

Room Tip: It's a get- away, don't plan on excitement.

This resort is not a deal for Holiday Inn Resort Club members or people renting by the night.

The unit was hot as it was June and the air did not work. The vent fan came on with the bathroom light making anytime in the bathroom loud and baths impossible. The gym is open to the public and .25 miles away. The ski lodge is closed. The Wi-Fi barely works. The outdoor pool is dirty. The indoor pool is not heated. The tavern on site is awful. The staff get drunk on the patio on their days off and a few of them live on site and will annoy you to death if they recognize you while randomly walking around. Like literally, two of their staff members just plopped down at my boyfriend's and I table and started trying to drink with us. Then anytime they saw us on their days off...they would just interrupt anything we did on site... So annoying.

Nothing to do Here as the location is crap.

The staff are exceptionally helpful and cordial. We phoned ahead and learned from the evening desk clerk that if we arrived not too long after 8pm we could dine in the restaurant which closes at 9pm. When we checked in at 8:05pm we dropped our bags in the room and went straight to dinner. After dinner the clerk gave us maps and directions around the Brownsville bridge detour to Woodstock (our favorite VT town) and the Simon Pierce factory and outlet in Windsor to visit the next morning.

The dining experience was not good - - it was outstanding! My wedge salad went well beyond the typical iceberg wedge and blue cheese; this one also included crumbled bacon and candied walnuts, with just enough dressing to pull it all together. My rib eye steak was very tender, cooked perfectly medium/rare and complemented by a mushroom sauce as good as you find anywhere. The accompanying yellow and zucchini squash was similarly cooked just enough without being overcooked and presented with a bit of onion, red pepper and parsley garnish to round out the flavor and add to the presentation. The potatoes served with an Alfredo type sauce were tasty and went well with the steak. Our only disappointment was that the chef’s lemon cheesecake specialty had just been prepared for tomorrow, and the chef insists that it “season” 24 hours before serving. Based on what we had just experienced, we were not surprised but impressed by his attention to detail and insistence on perfection.

Our server was very attentive and enthusiastically provided information about outdoor activities available at the resort and nearby. We appreciated this even more given the fact that we were the last diners and it was 9:20pm before we left. We retired to the room in time to catch the last half of the NBA finals in the comfort of the unit’s nicely furnished living room. Our single bedroom unit was spacious, except for the bathroom, with a very nice kitchen and comfortable mattress. My only difficulty was with the voice recognition reservation process and ensuing reservations clerk. We’ll definitely be back.

Stayed for just one night visiting friends in the area. The staff was cordial and the rooms were great. Plenty of room and nicely furnished. The property was well maintained. If your looking for a place in Vermont, which is off the beaten path, this is it! Would definitely stay here again! The only negative was that the wifi in our room didn't work, but we were able to use it in the lobby.
