We arrived in Bristol around mid afternoon and had a wander around the shops and the local produce market on the green and I must admit we were a bit surprised how quiet this small town was for this time of day. At around 4:30 we decided to have a drink and bite to eat at the Bobcat and then realised why the town was so quiet as everyone appeared to be here!
The beer menu is really interesting with helpful notes on which country the hops are grown and good descriptions of the flavour of the beer.
The food is good for this type of establishment and prices reasonable.
Service is friendly and courteous with a touch of good humour which makes for a fun experience.
We also purchased some tee-shirts and hoodies which are really good quality and tasteful, Vermont doesn't appear to do the normal tourist rubbish so abundant everywhere else.

We showed up before they were open for dinner and requested a table. We were seated and ordered at the bar.
After they opened at 5 we had to wave at the waitresses for 45 minutes to get any attention. After we walked up to the hostess, 10 minutes of confusion ensued, after which they informed us our table was reserved and that there was no room at the bat so we had to give up our table and wait for 2hours
The hostess was amazing rude
Coupled with the mediocre beer and greasy food, this place is not worth.
The Bobcat and its sister restaurant in Vergennes have an attitude issue - especially with being dirty and having poor food

We were a bit taken aback by the noise when we first walked in, and almost left, but glad we didn't. We hit the place at what, in the city, would be happy hour. The bar was full, and quite loud. We stayed, though, and after a while either it got a little quieter, or we got used to it. The tables were separated from the bar by a low wall, and as time went on, more and more families came in with children of all ages. Most of the people obviously knew each other, and there was much table-to-table chatting.

Now the food. Excellent!!! So glad we didn't leave. I had an appetizer & it was more than enough - sweet & sour braised beef with scallion pancakes & sesame cucumber salad. It was almost too pretty to eat, but I finally did eat it and soooooo good. My companion had the oven fried chicken breast with sweet potato biscuit herb gravy & bacon braised collard greens. The sweet potato biscuit was hard to identify in flavor, but tasted great.

As a beer lover (and the driver as well) I appreciated that this restaurant/brewery had sample sizes of their beers for 2 or 3 dollars each. That way I didn't have to abstain completely, nor worry about driving safely.

We dropped in on a Sunday and were lucky to have a table as the place was heaving with people. Service was great and the food good quality and substantial. We shared a flatbread which was excellent and had just enough room for the Taco salad and Bobcat burger that followed. All washed down with some great local beer from the premises. Well done! All good!

The food we ate, the Falafel Salad, was prepared with an understanding and care that is unusual in any pub or restaurant that we have frequented. THe fries and beer were equally satisfying. The atmosphere was friendly and pleasant. Great place!
