Description: Whetstone Station Restaurant and Brewery combines a large casual restaurant and open air rooftop bier garten, with a small experimental nano-brewery, all located right on the Connecticut River in Vermont. We offer an "inspired pub fare" style menu, with everything from small bites for a few bucks to full entrees. Along with one, always changing unique craft beer of their own they offer dozens of guest craft beers on draft and specialty drinks, all in an amazing waterfront location. The unique round building has been restored into a beautiful fire-lit space with a contemporary and industrial vibe. Indoor and outdoor dining, perched above the river, alongside a steel bridge and nestled between the green mountains make the amazing location a "don't miss" on any visit through Vermont.

Upon arriving at Whetstone Station to try their beer and get a stamp for our VT beer passport we were told it would be a 45 minute wait to be seated. We decided to wait at the bar after looking at the menu and are happy we did. All the waitstaff were knowledgeable and nice. The beer selection was fantastic and the time we waited at the bar for our seat seemed to go by quickly. The food itself was amazing and the atmosphere was welcoming. We plan to go back if we are in the area.

Whetstone is one Brattleboro area eatery that stresses local products and the results are excellent. We had the bratwurst and desserts and everything was first rate. The bratwurst came with home-made sauerkraut and warm German potato salad--best German cuisine I've had in years The beer was needless to say, first class. The service was great, paced just right.

In sum, all positives, no negatives, will definitely eat there whenever we're in the area.

We were happy to find this place perched on the river busy and warm on a cold December night. After the hostess said it would be a 45 minute wait, I returned to the car to look elsewhere when I received a text that our table was ready. The atmosphere was industrial and modern yet warm and inviting, with small spaces connecting together to make every table seem intimate, all had a Riverview. There was apparently lots of outdoor seating with even better river view views, but on this cold December night we opted to sit near the fireplace-- one of several.

The service was knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient, the food fresh and with a wonderful complexity without pretension. I just had a small salad and crab cakes, both appetizers or "small plates." The salad was a wonderful combination of mixed greens and a half-dozen other fresh vegetables usually not seen in a simple side salad. The crab cake and sauce, both sublime, was enough to fill me up. the menu offered impressive gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan options. The gluten-free harvest risotto was fantastic. The rustic handmade pizzas over hand cut fries were devoured by her kids.

Great selection of bottled and draft beer with very descriptive menu. I'd look for any excuse to try this place again.

Very cozy contemporary pub right on the river. Loved the Whetstone tacos and maple-cider ribs. Missed the cheddar maple popcorn, sadly!

We tried the sirloin tips rare and a sandwich along w salad. They were very accommodating w our changes n additions to the items. We also tried dessert - pumpkin cake which was a little dry. The sirloin tips were well marinaded n tasty. Salad had good flavor n the beer list was extensive. Parking lot fills up n there's a crowd of folks who clearly frequent this watering hole. Server was helpful n attentive.
