“Lucky stop”
Reviewed January 30, 2014 via mobile

We were lucky enough to stop in Brattleboro to take a break from the long drive up to Killington and we stopped here for lunch. The employees and the food were great. Everything tasted fresh and delicious!

“Best pastries, salads, and sandwiches for lunch”
Reviewed January 16, 2014 via mobile

Reliably great food for breakfast or lunch. Best baked goods in town: cakes, cookies, brownies, breads, they are all fantastic. There is limited seating, and it can get very crowded at lunch time.

“Bakery and more ...”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

The sandwiches and salads are fresh, delicious and made with local ingredients. You can sit on the sidewalk and watch the Brattleboro scene or sit inside at the back of the cafe and enjoy views of the Connecticut River, the trains and New Hampshire's Mount Wantastiquet. The service is top-notch - it might seem like it's crowded but the staff are always at the ready to take your order and payment and the cooks are fast and friendly. The BLT is great. The everything sticks are delicious. The baguettes are worth taking home.

One of my favorite Brattleboro spots. You do have to order at the counter and hope you can hear your name called when the food is ready, but beyond that, a nice place with a nice ambiance. Haven't had their pastries, but their sandwiches are superb. The dining room is in the back (which may not be that obvious when you do in) and you get a good view of the river, the train tracks and Wantastiquet Mountain. Look forward to the next time I get to Brattleboro.

“fabulous view, mediocre pastry”
Reviewed October 16, 2013

Many friends and family members recommended this place. We got one of the small tables overlooking the river: absolutely lovely view. In foliage season, it would be beyond spectacular. The food, I'm sad to say, was a major disappointment. We bought a loaf of bread to go: that was excellent. The pastries, sandwiches, etc. eaten at the restaurant were nothing special. You could do better just around the corner at the large organic grocery coop. Their baked goods are better, and they have an excellent selection of local produce and dairy.
