We have been here on several different occasions, including Thanksgiving and have never been disappinted. Service is attentive, surroundings warm and comfortable especially when the fireplaces are going. The menu choices are varied and everything is served hot with good sized portions. Thanksgiving choices included salmon, turkey, prime rib, vegetarian pasta dish, which our party had selected. We all enjoyed our meals very much. On other visits we found the fish dishes very good as well as the burgers. Soups are homemade and salads arrive crisp and fresh. The resturant is handicap accesible as well. Prices reasonable too. We will continue to visit this very good restaurant.

Finally stopped for dinner after passing this place many times back and forth between MA and NY, and glad we did. Saturday night "Prime Rib" special was one of the better we have eaten. Salad and potato were just the right sides. Prime rib was juicy and cooked to order. Atmosphere is pleasant and the service was friendly. It met all our criteria for a repeat visit.

You hardly ever see French onion soup with a baked cheese topping on big city menus anymore, but when well prepared as it is at New England House, it is truly wonderful. Ditto the lobster roll, generous, ungimmicky and accompanied by great fries and non-mayo coleslaw. The brawny burger was big and perfectly cooked to order. Every plate we saw pass our table showed similar care and generosity. The halibut and crab special looked terrific.
A shout-out to the servers, all knowledgeable and so eager to please we just wanted to hug them.
The decor is kind of tired, but clean and comfortable. There was a good folksinger playing to a full house in the separate bar room and folks braving a cool evening to sit out on the flowery deck.
The menu also had a nice selection of New England beers and ciders. We had a great evening and will make it a point to visit again soon.

This restaurant on VT-9 serves decent and inexpensive enough food, but is far from the rarified establishment it positions itself to be. Think of it as one step above Applebee's. The menu is standard fare - steak, salads, grilled this, stuffed that... A glass of Prosecco comes in a plastic-capped bottle. Go to the diner across VT-9 for a more authentic experience without the pretense.

This restaurant is charming. The service was friendly and attentive. We dug into the vampire chasers (homemade bread topped with Brie that has been mixed with roasted garlic) and were hooked. The salads use field greens and the blue cheese dressing with excellent. Everyone in our party enjoyed their entrees. I loved the salmon crusted in horseradish with a lemon butter sauce.
The dessert we chose was a not too sweet cheese cake with raspberry sauce. They ask you to turn off your cellphone when you arrive so don't plan on yakking on the phone here. You will have to talk to your dinner companions instead.
