“nice temporary art exhibits”
Reviewed August 11, 2013

We enjoyed our recent visit. The museum rotates exhibits every few months and it is worth stopping by if you're in the area. We liked recent relief paintings by a nyc artist and atmospheric pastels paintings of what appeared to be 30's era trains. The kids activity area was nice. Check reciprocal memberships with other museums for a potential discount.

“World Class Art at a Beautiful Vermont Museum”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

This small regional museum is a gem! Exhibits change every 3 months or so, and they are always interesting and very well done. The space is a charming old train station, and renovations have made it a top notch museum space. There's a great education room with children's activities. Excellent eateries steps away make this a complete outing. If you go on a weekend and the small museum parking lot is full there may be space next door at the Marlboro Graduate Center.

“Quality Exhibits For a Small Town Venue”
Reviewed July 6, 2013

Over the past few years we've been fortunate to experience a number of really first rate exhibits at this museum and art cednter running the gambit of works by Andy Warhol, Wolf Kahn and the current show, works by Red Grooms including some of his larger installations. Its a nice counter to such large venues such as the Clark in Williamstown or MassMOCA in N. Adams.

“Nice museum in Brattleboro”
Reviewed May 29, 2013

This museum does a great job presenting interesting shows with a wide range of subjects and mediums. We usually stop by when we were in the area and have seen a great variety of presentations. They do what they do very well. No, they are not a world class museum and that's what makes it so special. We were particularly moved by the show about coming out. I thought it was very sensitive, thoughtful and powerful. Our family always enjoys what this museum has to offer.

“Great Little Treasure”
Reviewed May 5, 2013 via mobile

This museum is small but was well worth the time it took to walk around and view the art. They change art exhibits every four months. We will be back to see the next exhibit.
