Description: Warm and inviting, casual fine dining at Café Provence is a truly memorable experience. Located in the restored historic section of downtown Brandon, Vermont—Chef Robert Barral, former Executive Chef of the New England Culinary Institute and The Four Seasons in Boston, crafts our seasonal menu to showcase not only his talents as a chef, but also highlight the best meats, cheeses, and vegetables that local farms have to offer.

We were passing through Brandon on our way to Burlington and decided to stop for lunch. We remembered this restaurant from a previous trip. We were told they were full but we could eat outside or at the bar. We chose the bar, and ordered from the specials. We were finally served after a 45 minute. When we asked about out order about 25 minutes in, the hostess gave us a blank stare and the waitress said she was moving as fast as she could. The quiche was delicious, the other items were average, and no apology was offered. Very disappointing.

A hidden gem in this picturesque small town. Comes highly recommended by the locals. Nice food selection for adults and kids alike with a most impressive selections of wines. We had very friendly service. Their pastry selection was also quite impressive and the lemon tart I had was amazing.

Driving from Keen area up to Burlington on the 103 and needed a rest stop about noon. Driving through Brandon and saw the sign for the Cafe Provence. I had cold cucumber soup and a tomato tart for lunch followed by espresso and chef's choice of three desserts. It was all excellent. I'm a foodie so I liked to sit at the bar and watch the kitchen. This is a first class operation that was very efficient and well-managed. Staff was courteous and interested in the customer and the food. I wished I could have come back for dinner to really enjoy everything.
This was an excellent experience.

We enjoyed a very good dinner here. Very nice staff, simple atmosphere, and very good service. I ordered the filet steak medium. It came out very rare, not even close to medium according to the server. It was sent back, and arrived correct, but I had eaten the rest of my dinner before the steak came back.

We also ordered the chocolate bomb dessert which was described with caramel. No carmel when it arrived, and when asked the server said they were out of caramel. Don't you think they would tell you when ordering?

Otherwise it was a very good meal.
