I stopped in for lunch and the service was incredibly slow. I literally had to stand up and find the waitress several times to get attention. The food was good - not great - and the ambience was probably marred by the fact that the restaurant itself was quite cold. I would probably go back but I am not recommending it to anyone.

Best French restaurant in the middle of nowhere I could possibly imagine. We had a lovely meal and lovely service. There is casual intimacy to the environment, but the real high point was the food. It is inventive enough to be very exciting, but maintains a broad appeal. Highly recommended. Also, get dessert!

Visited again during our vacation to take some friends out for dinner as a 'Thank You'. Early on Friday evening and the restaurant was busy but not packed. We waited 20 minutes for our order to be taken, another 30 minutes for the salads to arrive and about 30 to 40 minutes for the main courses. If the restaurant was jammed then maybe, just maybe, this would have been acceptable.
The quality of the food was ordinary which was a surprise as on previous visits the food has been very good.
One other very annoying detail was also service related. Without asking, our waiter removed the plates of those who had finished their course whilst other members of the party were still eating.
I'm pretty sure we won't return.

Great Food, marvelous wines, interesting menu. Classic French cooking in an out-of-the-way town in Vermont. Figure on spending $120 - $140 for two with a decent bottle of wine.

We dined first on a Monday evening. The food was excellent but the service was terrible; not unpleasant, just understaffed and leaving us largely unattended and with very long delays. The wine and bread arrived just before the dinner. Perhaps they were unexpectedly busy for a Monday.

On the strength of Monday's food, we returned on Friday evening of the same week. They were very busy but staffed appropriately and the service was fine. Unfortunately, the food was rather pedestrian.
