“Perfect inn experience!”
Reviewed March 26, 2009

I recently traveled to Brandon Vt for a funeral. Judy was so gracious and accomodating. She was the icing on the cake to a perfect inn experience. The inn is beautifully decorated with cheerful, colorful fabrics. Judy is not only an accomplished chef ,she is a talented designer. She has sewn most of the bedding and drapery in the inn. She takes pride in the inn and it shows! Don't miss this warm and wonderful Vermont experience. I can't wait to visit again.

We stayed one night at The Inn on Park Street in Brandon, Vermont on Wednesday, October 8, 2008. The inn was easy to find coming in from the east on Highway 73--you are already on Park Street. What a pictureque fall setting! The town was so colorful and full of New England charm. We are from Arizona, and do not get to see fall colors often--so this was a treat! There is a waterfall in the midst of the downtown area that empties into a creek which flows beneath a tavern on the main street. Simply beautiful! Also, each year the town has a fall theme to decorate the lamp posts--this year a different scarecrow was attached to every lamp post in town, and it was fun to see all the creative ideas.

We arrived at approximately 5:30 p.m., and were promptly shown to our room by Judy the innkeeper. The inn is a lovely old Victorian style home! Judy recommended places within walking distance for dinner and we chose the downtown restaurant with two names (Sully's Place aka Patricia's). What a find! The food was very reasonably priced and excellently prepared. Service was wonderful and friendly, also!

Our room was probably the least special of her rooms, but we knew that coming in and actually felt lucky to get it for one night, since most places were requiring a 2-night stay mininum. The room was spacious, very clean, and the bed was comfortable with one exception--there was no headboard which was a little awkward. We felt a little rushed when we first arrived as Judy was in the midst of preparing a dinner for friends that evening. Our room was at the back of the house, and we did not feel her guests were noisy or bothersome, but we would have loved to have been given a little information or history about the house, which was not offered due to her evening obligations.

The following morning breakfast was very good with scones, fruit, and juice for starters, then a choice of a mushroom and cheese omelette or french toast. We were offered and elected to try a little of both & the french toast was some of the best I had ever tasted. Not to mention the wonderful omelette! All guests were seated around a dining room table and everyone was very friendly. There were a few minor things I could mention we did not particularly like about the overall experience at this inn, but don't want to pick, and we would probably stay there again as long as we could get one of the other rooms.

Wished we could have spent more time in Brandon, as the town was the highlight of the stay. We want to go back to Brandon again sometime!

We stayed at the Inn in February on our way to Okemo -- a start to the holiday week. Judy was a fantastic innkeeper, incredible cook and the inn iteself was charming. If you are looking for that country charm that Vermont B&B's provide, we highly recomend this Inn. And, whatever you do, do not miss Judy's breakfast - it brings new meaning to a Vermont Country breakfast - be prepared for some work out afterwards....and to the ealier review from Beantown23, as is clear from everybody elses review, I assume this was simply a aberation from a guest who had unrealistic expectations in a situation where they did not want to follow the rules. Judy was not only pleasant and courteous, she was professional and a delight to meet. Enjoy!

This Inn deserves its #1 status. Judy is an awesome hostess. My boyfriend and I were her sole guests during our Christmas week visit and we got the royal treatment. Fabulous multi-course breakfasts and we were invited to her dessert party. Judy's desserts and all of her food are works of art. My guy and I put on a few pounds from our visit but it was worth it! The inn and our room was as warm and inviting as our hostess. We loved the jacuzzi in our room and all of the amenities including tons of towels in the bathroom. The decor was tasteful and homey. Judy arranged for our sleigh ride and made sure the sights we wanted to visit were open. Went snow shoeing for the first time at Blueberry Hill (a little off the beaten path but worth the trip!) Brandon is just about a five hour drive from NYC,. It is a quaint little town worth visiting and this is a great B&B. Been to several and this one is tops. Enjoy!

My wife and I enjoyed our stay in Brandon and our host Judy was a large contributor of that experience... truly gracious. The accommodations were very clean, nicely appointed, comfortable, and quiet. Judy's breakfasts and dinner were absolutely delicious and her hospitality warm and generous. We highly recommend this B&B and plan to make a return visit. We loved our stay!

Thanks Judy!

Wonderful old beautiful house with all amenities and huge rooms. Judy the host is an AMAZING CHEF - good thing we were cycling - so we could eat the wonderful food (and huge variety). Set in a picturesque tree-lined street within walking distance of the brandon town centre - ideal!

We had a WONDERFUL and romantic overnight stay with innkeeper Judy as part of our biking tour of Vermont. She left a welcome note on the door when we arrived as she was out buying fresh produce for our dinner. We felt very comfortable as soon as we walked in the door. The inn is on a beautifully tree-lined street in Brandon with several other inns, but it stands out as a tidy and approachable Victorian house.

We stayed in the Theresa room on the first floor, which is bright and beautifully furnished with a very comfortable bed. It also has a large jacuzzi tub that Judy told us how to use.

After a relaxing soak and cocktail in our room (bring your own wine and liquor since the inn has no license to sell), Judy served us a delicious meal by candlelight in the alcove of her front living room. She pulled out all the stops to make our dinner special. Four or five courses of the best food I've had in memory.

During dinner, a sudden storm killed the electric power, but Judy never missed a beat. After filling the huge living room with lots of sparkling candles, she proceeded to make it a unique dinner that made the evening even more special. Fortunately, Judy had already cooked most of the dinner and skillfully improvised the rest.

Judy is a generous, caring, and very friendly innkeeper who took a personal interest in us. We enjoyed conversing with her as she went about making us comfortable. The breakfast was also great. You won't go away hungry. Her scones are terrific, and she gave us the recipe.

We look forward to returning to the Inn on Park Street, and highly recommend it. Staying with Judy is almost like visiting a friend who just happens to be a gourmet cook!
