During our 3 days in Bennington we checked out this place and enjoyed a great lunch of scallops with real mashed potatoes and perfectly cooked yellow and green beans. Our server was really pleasant and gave good service. I think sometimes it gets very busy here so we decided to eat lunch around 1:30 pm so only one group waiting ahead of us. Otherwise it sounds like you can have quite a wait.

The Blue Benn diner is the quintessential diner! It is a small space and the employees dance around each other to serve the guests.. it is quite the orchestrated dance too. The food was good, the choices are myriad! The employees and those eating were very friendly, it's a terrific atmosphere. We love Bennington so it was wonderful to find this treasure and we'll be back....soon! The car show was in town and the Blue Benn diner was a showplace for this gorgeous classic car!

As the title says, we loved the multi grain cranberry walnut pancakes served with hot cranberry sauce! Waitress was a little rough around the edges at first encounter but then nice. Coffee was very hot and good as well.

This classic 1940s diner is a must stop for us whenever we are in the area. It is a blast from the past--6 tables, counter, juke box machines at each table. Most days it is open to only about 4:30 PM, but is open to 8 PM three days a week (check in advance the times so you will not be disappointed). Besides the mentu there are many items posted on colored cards around the place. I had the turkey platter--hefty portion of turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, carrots, mashed potatoes and roll for $9.95--so much that it made another meal later. If I had the time I would have returned another day for the great crunchy berry pancakes. Because it is so small it is better to go at off hours so you do not have to wait for seating. This is truly a great place and should not be missed.

A perennial favorite makes waiting well worth the time you may spend on the bench. Any time of day; any Dietary choice you may have. Something yummo for all. Only reason we don't give it straight 5s is the need for even a little updating and perhaps a bit of degreasing Best of the best as far as their food goes always!
