The hotel is an old, renovation-while-in-use Victorian house. It only has three rooms for guests and ours was very spacious, clean and comfortable. The hosts are a young couple who seem to really have their hearts in making this an enjoyable experience.
It is off-beat and may not be for everyone but we enjoyed it very much. For example, most such establishments bill themselves as Bed and Breakfast. In a break from tradition, this offers no breakfast but instead offers free martinis in the evening. On Friday and Saturday nights, the martini bar is open to the public which makes for pretty lively local entertainment. They close at a reasonable hour so it doesn't result in a detriment to a good rest on the comfortable bed.
The location is excellent, within walking distance of everything in this small but weird town. Our host recommended a restaurant which was spot on.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is not so stuffy that they would be happier in a Holiday Inn. If/when we return to Bennington we will stay here.

Every Weekend the Inn is a buzz with activities and gatherings, going on until around 10pm. ... more less
