Description: The Madison family has deep roots in the Bennington, Vermont. As locals growing up and living in the area, the Madison's have deep ties to the community and in the early 1990's the family decided to purchase what was then a burned out storefront in Bennington's historic downtown, and convert it into the area's first brew pub. "My brother Mark was part of the inspiration" says co-owner Mel Madison. "He become passionate about brewing beer as a hobby... And that let us to the idea of starting a brew pub." From those humble beginnings, the brewery has developed six regular brews plus a seasonal brew. To complement the brewing is the lunch and dinner offerings as well as Madison's own home-made chips - a favorite at the bar or anyplace. Now into its second decade of operation, the brew pub has become a Bennington fixture and a favorite amongst the locals. We encourage you to stop in and discover for yourself everything Madison's Brewing Company has to offer!

My family and I always stop here for a beer on our way in/out of town for our annual ski trip to Mount Snow. You can fill your growler up here, too.

Bennington is not a big place, so this pub feels very local. The Madison Brewing Co has a very relaxed atmosphere and the beers (Battlefield Stout was the best) and the food that I tried was very good. The staff was also very friendly and joined us in several sing-alongs that we started up with the piano in the back room.

Ate dinner here with wife & 3 kids. Pasta special was tasty. Kids meals were decent sized and fairly priced. They had dessert from Crazy Russian Girls bakery across the street which was delicious. Sampled 2 of their beers and they were very nice. Very friendly staff and I think the owner said hello on way out the door. I would go back and recommend this place to friends.

Madison Brew Pub is a cosy, comfortable space right on Main Street in Bennington. They serve they own brews at the absolutely beautiful old copper topped bar and have plenty of tables for meals. Menu is normal pub fare with enough to keep vegetarians very happy. Food is hot, good, and portions are generous without being over the top. Not haute cuisine, but great for stopping in after a day on the outdoors, or shopping, or just because you forgot to plan for supper. The beer selection is wonderful. The staff are friendly, nice, and appropriately attentive. Very worth it. Perfectly fine for kids and families.

Nice local brew pub, but the food was average at best. Had a turkey sandwich with really predominate cranberry mayo. It was open faced and had melted processed cheese on top, which was disappointing considering it is Vermont. On top of the cheese was a random slice of avocado. Didn't really seem like there were any other food choices close by. Probably ok if you want the beer just for beer and/or if you're really hungry.
