“Close but...”
Reviewed October 11, 2011

We stayed at this hotel in August 2011. The room we had was on the ground floor in the building that backs onto the pool. The hall ways are musty smelling and so was the room. We left the patio door open and A/C on to try to freshen up the room. The beds were decent, and the room was clean enough. The pool area could be spectacular if they would keep it cleaner. When we arrived around 5 pm the pool pump was not running, and the pool was covered with pine needles from the overhanging trees. The bottom of the pool was also full of debris. This could be solved with leaving the pump running to keep the water filtered.
I feel this hotel could stand an update, and if it was done properly it would be a great location.

We stayed here for two nights. The room was clean and fairly spacious. We had a door onto a patio, but people sitting right outside wasn't great for privacy.

Do not stay here if you want a good nights sleep. We stayed on the ground floor and were kept awake most of the night by people walking on the floor above. The floors are so thin it sounded like a herd of elelphants above. Reception staff disinterested . No breakfast. No wifi in room only in reception.
If we had been booked for more than one night we would have left. There are many motels in the area there must be a better place than this.

Room Tip: Do not book ground floor room. Internet only in reception.

We ( 2 parents, two kids: 8 and 10) stayed there for two nights. The motel is clean but the rooms are very dark and have not been redecorated since the late 70's. It was way too expensive for what it was. We payed more there than at a top hotel in Boston... The garden and the pool are very nice and well tended though.

We stay here a couple of times a year in the middle of trips from southern Connecticut to Canada, the Adirondacks or Lake Champlain. Bennington area has quite a few fine restaurants and fun bars.

The Paradise Inn rooms are spacious and clean; the beds are new and comfortable; the staff is friendly and the prices (at least in summer) are very reasonable. The windows open so mountain fresh air is available at night. Call directly for better pricing than you can get online.

Hemmings Motor News headquarters is right across the street and has a cruise-in Thursday nights in summer for all kinds of old cars and trucks.
There is a pool as you can see from the photo, but be aware it is unheated.

Room Tip: Second floor pool side rooms in the south building will get you this view of sunrise.

I was worried after making a reservation at this hotel and then seeing some less than stellar reviews. But we found this hotel was very good and confortable.

This hotel is on the outer edge of town, but still close enough to major routes to get where you need to go. The beds in the main area of the hotel was firm, just the way we like them for our old achy backs. There are some unplanned activities you can do here. They have a pool, shuffleboard and a tennis court. We used the tennis court. While not of Wimbledon quality, it was sufficient for my daughter and I to knock a few balls around. The hotel has the equipment to use free of charge.

The bathroom was a little small and there was limited vending for drinks and such.

Overall, we were very pleased with this hotel.

Stayed here for two night during a music festival in neighboring Massachusetts. While the air in the rooms was slightly musty and dry, the room itself was very clean, beds were firm and comfortable, and the lobby and common areas were sweetly decorated. The best feature, in my view, is the wonderful slate-surrounded pool and the grounds, which are carefully and lovingly landscaped. I would stay here again, as it is close to town, and offers nice privacy, free tea and coffee all day long, and seemed to me to be a good value for the price.
