“The most relaxing get away...”
Reviewed September 10, 2012

My wife and I had an unexpected weekend without children and decided on a quiet trip to Vermont. I came across Halladay's Harvest Barn Inn via an internet search. We chose the Orchard Suite for it's spaciousness and were not disappointed. Heather and Dan were fo kind and friendly - they made us feel very welcomed. The home made waffles with fresh fruit and maple cinnamon whipped cream were excellent for our Sunday breakfast. We have decided to make this an annual destination and look forward to spending time at Halladay's Harvet Barn Inn next year!

Thank you Heather and Dan!

We stayed at the Inn in September. First impression was simply warm and cozy. You are invited in by couteous staff and assisted with settling in. We selected the Orchid Suite which had its own entrance and balcony with beautiful view of a pond and Garden. This room has a TV/DVD also. Each morning we arised to coffee and hot delicious breakfast which we enjoyed with an amazing mountain view of the conneticut river. Each evening we looked forward to fresh baked cookies. Heather and Dan make this a personal experience, it felt like home.

Room Tip: The orchard suite is the only guest suite on back side of the Inn, so it is private and quiet.

We've been buying Halliday's products for years and when we saw they had a bed and breakfast we knew it would be great. We chose the Orchard suite and it was lovely. There is such a quaint homey feeling about the inn. It's, like staying at your grandmother's house but hosted by a very caring and gracious couple, Heather and Dan. Halliday's is a lovely refurbished colonial wafting of the smell of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. The breakfasts were heavenly and the coffee delicious. We so enjoyed just sitting on the front porch in the rocking and Adirorndack chairs reading with a lovely view of the Connecticut river ahead. The innkeepers pointed us toward some wonderful places to eat. The food was unbelievable esp at Leslie's. If you plan to visit the Bellows Falls area, this is definitely the place to stay.

Room Tip: The Orchard Suite is very quiet and secluded. We highly recommend it.

Thank you so much for your kind words - we're glad you enjoyed the Orchard Suite and that you found time to relax on the porch with our favorite combination: books and cookies! We're delighted you enjoyed the baked goods and breakfasts here at the Inn and to hear that you found great local eateries, like Leslie's, for lunch and dinner. It was a pleasure to meet you two and we hope you'll visit us again soon.

We planned a weekend getaway in Bellows Falls and found this gem of a B & B online and couldn't have been happier. We were planning on a late Friday night arrival and asked about checking in and they told us they'd leave the door open and our room would be just past the 2 comfy charis on the right:) Well talk about first impressions! We squared up the next day and had a great breakfast too! And there was nothing nickel & dimey either, which all made us feel right at home away from home! The room was comfortable and clean and quaint and quiet! We loved it here and can't wait to come back. The porch was beautiful overlooking the Connecticut River and the area is so steeped in history, I don't know why more people don't think of Bellows Falls as a destination! When you do, stay here. You will not be disappointed and you too will want to return! If we could do it all over again, we would stay here at the Harvest Barn Inn! It's better than being home! :)

Room Tip: We chose the economocal Bird's Nest room for 2 figuring why not save a few bucks. It was fine!

Our hosts, Dan and Heather, were very obliging and made sure we had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. The homemade chocolate cookies were a wonderful welcome at the end of a very long day. The room was perfect, the bed comfortable, the bathroom private and well-appointed. Breakfast was wonderful and the Connecticut river view was a spectacular addition to our stay. Loved the beautiful flower bed in front of the house. I could have stayed forever. Thank you to Dan, Heather and Joyce for your gracious hospitality. Your place seemed almost like it belonged to me. Hope to come back for another visit.

Room Tip: Ask for the bedroom with views of the Connecticut River. Make sure you stay for breakfast.

My fiance and I desperately needed to get away, we both work in an emergency room and really needed to destress. We randomly decided to head to VT, and I searched quite a few places to stay, and came across this B&B. Needless to say, we will be coming back, and already started planning our next stay. Heather and Dan were absolutely the best! We felt like we were staying in someone's home, without at all feeling like we were barging in on someone. They were so welcoming, and the B&B was just lovely. The never ending chocolate chip cookies? I already miss those. Our room was perfect, we stayed in the Orchard Suite...there were no other rooms up on the 2nd floor, so it felt very private. The bed was so comfortable and the colors in the room were so relaxing. We had our own bathroom and our own private deck looking out on the backyard, and the couch in the room was a great place to just sit and look outside (it was too hot out for me.) The room's air conditioning was on before we got there, so the temperature was perfect. We ended up just laying on the couch together for a while and watching the Olympics on the flat screen TV that was in the room. We happened to be there during Old Homes Day and there was an interesting fireworks display that night, where Heather and Dan set up a great cheese and cracker spread. All the guests sat on the porch and enjoyed the evening. The next morning, we woke up to the smell of the most delicious breakfast I've ever had. I was actually upset when it was time for us to leave. Heather and Dan really made our stay amazing, and they're a very sweet and funny couple. We can't wait to go back!

Me and my bridesmaids stayed here the night before my wedding, what a fabulous time. I awoke and went to have a quiet tea on the porch before the craziness began and then me and my girls had an incredible breakfast (complete with gluten free meals for two of them) followed by a perfect atmosphere for getting ready and relaxing before my big day.

The night of our wedding my Husband and I returned to an amzing room, complete with flower petals and candles. :-) We again awoke to have an incredible breakfast as husband and wife. What a perfect way to start and end our wedding!

I would love love love to return again!!!!!!!
