This is an amazing place. Barre was the home of many of America's finest sculptors for decades and some of the finest work produced by these artists can be found here.

Hope Cemetery is a direct result of the work down by Italian marble cutters who settled in Barre, Vermont in the 1880s. Unfortunately, the workers did not realize that the dust from the marble caused Scoliosis. Most marble cutters died in their early forties. One monument, of a woman holding her husband who died of this disease is especially moving.

This my favorite cemetery. The memorials are imaginative and beautiful, and the sculptures impressive. You will be glad you visited this memorable cemetery

A cemetery is a place that you wouldn't think of being a great tour spot but wow! Hope Cemetery is an awesome display of creativity and craftsmanship. The stories that go behind the stones add so much to the unique tour.

This is a truly special place to visit and to bring visitors. The size, artistry, and variety of the memorials and mausoleums are absolutely fascinating. There's not a "creepy" feeling like many old cemeteries have. Whenever I drive through it, I feel like I'm driving in Beverly Hills and marveling at the grand homes of the stars.
