I had read other reviews that the pool was closed do to someone being sick. Well its because the chlorine is so strong and when uyou go down the slide its like a gas chamber. Everyone gets off the slide and coughs. My daughter did get sick from going on the slide three times in a row. She came of the slide then threw up. A few days after we took her to the doctor because she was still throwing up. Doctors said it was from the slide since the chlorine was terrible in there. They need to do something about it, because honestly it will kill someone if they have breathing issues. The hotel know there is an issue because when the slide is on they open an exit door to help the circulation in the pool area, but not good enough. The rest of the pool is nice but as soon as you get close to the pool you know. The hotel was nice.
If you have breathing issues really don't go to the pool because I promise you will have issues breathing.

Checked in after driving 10 hours and the parking lot was full on a Sunday evening. People from the adjoining hotel were using the BBQ facility to have a full-on party. Front desk person was on the phone and tried putting the person on hold and it upset the caller who became belligerent towards her (she told me this) and she was clearly flustered. I felt for her as she was super friendly. Check in was no problem. People were everywhere and the place felt crowded. This was the first night of our vacation and I booked the hotel for the pool and waterslide for the kids. Front desk person said they were having ventilation issues with the slide and some people were getting sick. We changed into our swimsuits only to find the pool closed for cleaning because someone got sick in it. Not the hotel's fault, but put a damper on my plans. Came back in 90 minutes and my son decided not to swim because of the chlorine smell and number of small kids in the pool. Again, very busy and crowded. The room was fine and we had a good night's sleep, but wouldn't book here again.

We certainly do our utmost to make your stay comfortable and pleasant, so we are very pleased to note that you found our Front Desk staff friendly and had a smooth check-in process. We booked a room early and when our plans shifted we couldn't cancel our first reservation because of the "special" we booked under and we also couldn't extend so we had to make a separate reservation to accommodate the extra days this coupled with the fact we asked to change rooms so we wouldn't be right next to the breakfast area really threw the staff for a loop. Our Bill was wrong, which they quickly fixed, we had to recheck in and there seemed to be some all around confusion. The staff politely fixed the issues but not without making us feel like we were inconveniencing them.
One of the main reasons for choosing this hotel was the waterslide which was not open part of the time and when it was open there was so much chlorine my eyes burned just being in the room.
Our room was fine on the surface but when I moved the nightstand to get to a plug I found lots of dust and a ketchup package.
The one redeeming quality and one efficient staff member we encountered was Jessica if she hadn't been there we would probably still be standing at the desk explaining our stay

I was on the 3rd floor the room was very comfortable and it was very quiet during our stay. I enjoyed the cleanliness of the room and the view was amazing from that room. We had access to the stairs so we could move in and out without disturbing anyone on that floor!

Room tip: 3rd floor is the best way to go!

This sounds really but the shuttle driver they share with the neighboring property, Justin, is the best driver in the biz. He's the ultimate ambassador of SLC. He can answer any question you could have. Other positive? GREAT soft pillows.

Downsides are minor, You can walk to an Applebees and a sports bar that I got food poisoned at. But except for that, there's nothing around there. The walls are paper thin. I diagnosed the guy in the room next door with sleep apnea. And out of three requested wake up calls, they did one, they missed completely one, and one came at 4 am instead of the twice-requested 5 am.

But it's still really good. I'll be back.

Hello Layover,

Thank you for choosing us and for sharing your experience. I am happy to learn that you enjoyed the pillows and found the shuttle driver to be accommodating. However, it is unfortunate that the level of noise and the failure of our staff to give you the requested wake up calls negatively affected your overall satisfaction. I am sorry we were not able to give you the best stay you wanted. Your feedback has been taken into account and will be shared with our staff. We are confident that necessary steps will be made, in order to achieve complete guest satisfaction.

Thank you for staying and we hope you give us another chance to show you how great our hotel is.
