Great cars, people. Awesome as always. Go once and you are hooked. Met some great people over the years including staff who put on the event

This place is exactly what you'd expect: giant flat, salty plains. The mountains to the west create an amazing scene for sunsets, if that's your thing. I only passed through, so I didn't see any racing, but there were plenty of tracks. Pulling over for pics was a pretty easy feat, though. Also, the salt can be wetter than it looks...don't wear your nice shoes!

We found ourselves in Salt Lake City wondering what to do, and we knew the famous Bonneville Salt Flats were in this neck of the woods, so we decided to give it a try. The drive from Salt Lake City is just under 2 hours, but it's an easy drive with some interesting scenery along the way, especially if you're from the east coast and enjoy mountains and desert scenery that we don't have back home. There are a couple of basic rest stops along the way, and I'd highly recommend stopping at them to stretch your legs and enjoy the view. The second rest stop overlooks the Bonneville Salt Flats, and there is a sign that provides good photo opportunities. The actual Bonneville Speedway is not far from that second rest stop, so if you've gone this far, why not go 10 to 15 minutes further, where you can drive right in, and if you're lucky, watch some of the guys racing their motorcycles and custom speed racers! There is also a sign there that provides more photo opportunities. If you go, just know that besides those 2 rest stops, there's really not much civilization along the way, so bring drinks and snacks with you if you're so inclined, and also make sure you begin this journey with a full tank of gas! While I won't go so far as to say this is a "must see", if you have some extra time and are looking for something to do, this is a good option to consider.

This place is just too beautiful!! the view is just magnificent. But there was this car which got stuck in the salt flats, this car which got stuck was very lucky that we were passing by, otherwise he would be stuck there for I don't know when.... This place is a wonderful place to visit, but just be careful before adventuring and driving into the salt flats. Make sure you have a 4x4.

We visited the salt flats and then drove the Bonneville speedway.
The salt flats are an amazing place to visit. Stop at the rest area and enjoy this peculiar site.
