This drive is absolutely beautiful any time. We had the added beauty of the Fall leaves to enjoy in addition to the year-round splendor of the rugged mountain views. You can see a huge fault line and look over Flaming Gorge. We saw deer, mountain sheep, wild turkeys, a huge hawk and brilliant red kokanee salmon spawning in the creek, all up close and personal. You can picnic and camp. It wasn't crowded at all. There's no entrance fee. You have nothing to lose coming here except your boredom. This is one of the most majestic places I have ever been, and I have travelled many places around the world.
