Marriot 's version of suites is Townplace Suites which incidentally is right beside this Springhill suites in Vernal Utah...these two hotels and a Mexican restuarant all squeezed in to less than a two acre lot. This Springhill Suite is way overpriced...$211 for a small room separated by a see through glass fixture...thus suite...in reality it is not a suite...just a room with two beds and a sofa. Apparently the place is not very old but it most definitely is beginning to show wear and tear...stain spots on the carpet and couch. I guess these prices are warranted as a result of the gas mining going on in and around Vernal and of course the Dinosaur monument is not far to the east. Also if you're traveling in that part of Wyoming , Utah, and Colorado then Vernal is the "largest" city available...but in reality the whole place is just one big strip mall. There are no restaurants to speak of so bring your own food and cook it in the room. Better yet there is a little resort up on top of the mountain above Vernal...Red Canyon Resort...stay there...not pretentious and the views up there are outstanding...especially in the fall...and Flaming Gorge is just below it to the north in Wyoming. But SpringHill Suites....way too colorful...and most definitely not made to last. Decoration is more like that of an over the top college dormitory. The walls are thin, the doors slam incessantly, and the breakfast is nothing to crow about. Checking in seems to be an afterthought to the lasses working there...as it took two of them to do one registration while I stood waiting. The top floor room I had requested was not honored. Marriot usually does better than this but I suppose they know they have a captive market in Vernal and thus the gouging on the price of the room. All and all, I would just recommend bypassing Vernal and drive on to Park City and stay in a wonderful "true" suite at the Hampton Inn there for half the price...and have at your disposal dozens of excellent restaurants.

Room Tip: Avoid the place if possible and stay at the brand new Town Place Suites right next to it...still Marriot....but at least too new to be too bad

The staff was friendly and the location was perfect. The hotel was located within walking distance to several restaurants. The bed was comfy and my room was clean. The WiFi was fast and actually worked on my mobile and laptop. The free breakfast was better than expected.

We recently stayed at this hotel while on a family road trip to Dinosaur National Monument. We chose this particular hotel due to the good reviews on Trip Advisor and the proximity to the monument quarry entrance. It was everything we expected and more. We arrived on a Friday afternoon and the checkin process was very quick. Upon entering the hotel lobby, we were pleasantly surprised with the modern design and layout. The room was very nice and spacious. My Wife and I enjoyed the very comfortable king size bed while my 7 year old son had the pull out sofa bed. He was comfortable with the pull out, but I'm not sure that an adult would be as comfortable. Since the rooms are suites, they include a small refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, TV, desk, and the areas have a natural flow between them. There are separate areas for the toilet and the shower/vanity which was handy when multiple people were trying to get going in the morning. The free WIFI had excellent signal and was very fast compared to many other hotels. We were on the second floor towards the end of the hallway and there was very little noise from other rooms or outside. There are two elevators which seemed to be able to handle the demand with ease. The pool was very clean, was the perfect size, and wasn't too crowded. We enjoyed a swim both nights of our stay and we had a great time. There is a small gym, but we didn't use it during out stay. The hotel doesn't have a restaurant, but they do provide a complimentary breakfast each morning. The breakfast was a very nice surprise indeed as I wasn't expecting it. They had a wide variety of breakfast options which suited each of us well. Even though the price of the room was a bit higher than others in the area, the complimentary breakfast helped with the value proposition. This hotel is about 14 miles or so from the Monument entrance which worked well for us. It is also right off of highway 40 which provided easy access to everything. There are numerous restaurant options in Vernal and this hotel is close to most of them. Parking is complimentary and I recommend parking on the back side of the hotel which seemed to be less crowded and offered a keyed entrance for guests. The only minor complaint my Wife had was the pillows weren't to her liking. Of course pillows are highly subjective and I didn't have an issue with them. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at this hotel and Vernal in general. On a side note, for those interested in dinosaurs/fossils, we highly recommend the Utah Field House Of Natural History Museum in Vernal. It was significantly better than I expected and rivals many much larger museums. We would definitely return to Vernal, and will stay at Springhill Suites when we do.

We were staying in Vernal as a waypoint on the way from Colorado to Yellowstone and Grand Tetons national parks. Although we have stayed in Springhill Suites and other Marriott hotels previously and found them to be generally good, since Vernal is such a small place we weren't expecting a lot. We were surprised to find that the décor all over the hotel was very upscale looking, modern and chic. The bed was comfortable, as were the pillows; seems like hotel pillows are usually made out of ground bricks, but these were nice and soft. The separate bath areas mentioned in other reviews, the lighting controls, availability of outlets for our tech gadgets, coffee area, seating area and work area were top-notch. We were travelling for pleasure, but as experienced business travelers, we felt that the setup was great. Whoever designed the rooms did a great job (and must have done some travelling themselves). The only reasons I wouldn't rate it as excellent were the breakfast, which was just okay (still superior to some we've had), and the location - a little difficult to get into from the street and a crowded parking lot shared with another hotel and businesses.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the main drag if you're a light sleeper. Ours was on the fourth floor and we could still hear traffic.

The rooms at this Springhill Suites are much bigger than other Springhill Suites -there is an extra closet! Our family of four had plenty of room, and I love the separate bathrooms (shower/sink) (toilet/sink), which makes it easier to get ready in the morning. A good selection at breakfast even though there isn't enough seating. I would stay here again!
