“Lovely Log Cabins”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 8, 2011

These detached log cabins appear to have been recently built and furnished inside with items made of logs. The bed head made of logs wouldn't have been out of place at Fred Flintstone's house The quality of the fitments along with good quality linen and a comfortable bed made for a very pleasant stay in the small town of Tropic.

In the morning a basic breakfast was served in the again pleasant reception area with seating available outside for the warmer days.

Only a few miles from Bryce Canyon, Tropic is a pleasant small town and is very conveniently situated for visiting the park and also for getting away from the bigger more expensive hotels.

We were upgraded from the economy room to a cabin because we were celebrating our 2 year wedding anniversary. That was a very nice surprise! The cabin was very cute and very clean and it actually looked quite new inside. It was nice to be able to park right in front of the cabin too. We never made it to the free continental breakfast so I can't review that.

The pizza place attached to the hotel had great pizza and good prices but horrible service. We ate there both nights of our stay (10/26 and 10/27) and both times the same waitress was working. Both nights there were only two other tables occupied in the restaurant but the service was bad. It took forever to get menus and water and we hardly ever saw the waitress. The the food did come out quickly though.

Room Tip: Definitely book a cabin!

We have reserved an economy room so we were not in a cabin but in a room behind the restaurant that seem to belong to the same owner. I was a little scared when the lady at the office told me that but as soon as we saw the room, it was OK. Of course it was not a gorgous location but the room was clean and cute and the place seem quiet. We were more than OK staying in that room. The price was also correct for what we got. The free continental breakfast was very good. I would stay there again without a problem. I'm not scared to recommend the Bryce Canyon Inn.

Room Tip: There are cabins but also rooms in a building behind the restaurant... so you know before you make y...

Staff were very friendly and I was checked in quickly, with no hassles. My cabin was right next door to the reception building, which was at the side of the main road through the small town of Tropic. I was actually expecting a more remote location but this didn't detract from my enjoyment of the stay. The cabin seemed almost brand new, very clean and very comfortable. Everything worked without problem and there was plenty of space. The biggest benefit was not having any noise coming from rooms above, below or to the side. Breakfast was served in the reception building and the staff there were very friendly, eager to chat and suggest places to visit. Breakfast itself was very good, a hug range of cereals, yoghurt, bread and well stocked supplies of coffee and juice it seemed more like a never ending feast, laid out and stocked in the neatest way I've ever seen. There was a pizza place less than a minute away on foot, a restaurant the same in the other direction, as well as a gas station and well stocked general store, though for the smokers among you the closest place to buy cigarettes is about 15 miles away at Ruby's General store near Bryce Canyon, so be warned and stock up!

Room Tip: Noise and lighting isn't really a problem, I don't think it really matters which cabin you...

Initially scheduled for 3 nights, later changed schedule for 4 nights and as we arrived, tired at the end of a 2 weeks hiking in Utah National Parks, we decided to shorten our stay to 2 nights.

The hosts were very friendly and accepted our request with no penalty.
Clean and well-resourced breakfast (from fresh fruits, to a variety of Kashi cereal, milk and yogurt) and friendly hosts.

The cabin, to our surprise (it was our first stay in this type of cabins) was huge and very well kept and appointed. Very comfortable beds and very clean bathroom.
It is unfortunate we had to cut our trip short as there are few more hiking trails we could have done.. I am sure we will be back, and most certainly we’ll pick Bryce Canyon Inn again.

The little cabin rooms at the Bryce Canyon Inn and very nice, clean, and a good value. The rooms have normal amenities and includes a very extensive continental breakfast- lots of yogurts, fruits, breads, drinks. The staff here is very nice, I felt very comfortable here. It is next to the post office (great for mailing stuff home to yourself while travelling!) and the next door over is the pizza restaurant owned by the same folks (it is quite good and also clean and fresh inside). I'm rating a 4 instead of 5 because we were in the cabin next to the road and my husband had trouble sleeping with the sound from the mini-fridge. However, we'd love to stay again!

Room Tip: Ask for a room further from the road.

I was disappointed to find our cabin was right on the main road...when you are visiting this part of the country where there is gorgeous scenery at every turn, why stay someplace with no view and nothing beautiful to open your door to every morning? We chose these cabins over the Bryce Country Cabins which are right down the road because of the free breakfast which was a good selling point. But the scenery at Bryce Country Cabins is definitely nicer so decide based on which is more important (both the same price). Consider staying closer to Escalante at the Slot Canyon Inn...it's gorgeous and secluded! Also there seem to be lots of Bed and Breakfast options around which I didn't know about before we got there, that seem really cute and quaint.
