This past Aug. on our way through the back country from the North Rim of the Grand canyon to Park City, Ut., we stopped for the night at Pine Shadows. It was a perfect spot to unwind at the end of a long day of driving through spectacular country. The next morning, we had our coffee on the back porch and enjoyed a beautiful view of the sun rising over Capital Reef. Awesome! My wife and I agreed this was truly a diamond in the rough. After checking out we drove into Torrey and had a great breakfast at the Chuckwagon. The waitress might have been the highlight of the trip. But that' another story.
