Steve and Debbie

Thanks for your hospitality. We had a great stay and enjoyed your place. I appreciate the design of your property in the way it provides privacy and the opportunity to visit with others if desired. We also really appreciated the quiet and solitude that the your location in Teasdale provides. We hope to be able to visit again.

Like a lot of the people that have reviewed Pine Shadows, I wished we'd booked more nights! There is so much to do in the area 3-5 nights or more would be perfect! The room was very large and had great views of the colorful mountains. A perfect location! We'll be back and will plan on staying longer next time!

I traveled with 2 friends in a trailer as I stayed in hotels during our 3 week trip to Zion, Bryce, Escalante, Capital Reef, Canyonlands and Arches. I stayed in traditional motels/hotels with OK rooms and OK amenities. Pine Shadows Cabins (near Capital Reef) is far above the rest, but for the same price (less than $100 per day). I stayed in cabin 1, the most secluded and most quiet. There were 2 queen beds, full kitchen and bath, comfy padded swivel chair, table and chairs for dining, a rear porch with a view of the mountains, wifi, TV, full fridge and a rarity in hotels ... a real full bar of soap! The room feels even more spacious due to the "A" frame nature of the cabin with wood walls and large beams spanning the high ceiling. A ceiling fan and full a/c made the place constantly comfortable. It is secluded and quiet, you never hear a neighbor. The only downside (if I can even call it that) is no room service, you make your own bed, but staff is always available if fresh towels, etc are needed. It's also located in quiet Teasdale, less than 20 miles from Capital Reef and only a 15 minute beautiful and quick drive. Food is available in nearby Torrey and having a full kitchen makes is so simple to make pasta, microwave anything or cook a simple meal. This was a palace for a single person but still would feel spacious with a family of 4. My best accommodation on this trip by far, a 10 out of 10!

These cabins are newer, and they are located near Capitol Reef National Park. Teasdale is just a few miles west of Torrey which is the nearest town to the national park. Our cabin had a well-stocked kitchen with small refrigerator, microwave, cook top and plenty of dishes, tableware and cookware. The private bathroom in the cabin had a nice tub with shower and plenty of good towels. Each cabin has an outdoor grill and picnic table. The cabin also had wireless internet service and a TV – the office loans out movies to watch, and their movie selection is quite large. The office also has a good supply of brochures for area attractions. The hosts were friendly and helpful. These cabins are a good choice if you are visiting Capitol Reef NP and you don’t want to camp – my husband and I stayed there for 2 nights. Cell phone service in the area is sporadic.

Cons: The beds are not very comfortable. No iron or ironing board provided. Also, we had to vacuum out a bunch of spiders and their webs around the bed when we arrived (vacuum cleaner is provided in the cabin).

Note: These cabins are advertised as luxury cabins – that is a misnomer. They are very nice cabins that seem fairly new and are clean, but they are not in the luxury category.

Note about directions to the cabins: The directions on the website are incorrect if you are approaching from the east, because there are 2 turn-offs for Teasdale from Highway 24. If coming from the east: Turn left at the Teasdale sign – go about 1 mile into the little village. Turn right onto Center Street. Then turn left onto Main Street. Turn right onto 125 South St by the white church and go ¼ mile to Pine Shadows cabins on the left. If your approach is from the west, follow directions on the website.

What a fantastic place to stay! Pine shadow cabins are a hidden gem off the beaten track and away from all the chain motels although still accessible to shops and restaraunts in nearby Torrey. The extremely spacious cabins are beautifully decorated and spotless with a full range of self catering facilities including a barbaque on the outside patio. The location is stunning and has the magical feel that you are staying in the midst of the red rock wild west! It was so peaceful and relaxing here we really didn't want to leave. We enjoyed this place so much I can honestly say it was the best accomodation we have ever stayed in. Debbie and Steve were so warm and friendly. I would reccomend this accomodation to everyone. Can't wait to go back again.
