We wound up at Sundance after leaving another hotel in the area, which was unsuitable. It was late in the evening and the Sundance front desk employees could not have been nicer, friendlier and accommodating. The rooms we stayed in were in cabins - one room above and one room below. The rooms are mini-suites with a small kitchen and table, wood burning fireplace and very comfortable bed with a nice easy chair. A door leads to a small deck with 2 chairs overlooking a scenic area. Some have outdoor hot tubs. The first night we arrived late and the restaurant was closed so we ate in the bar. Food was good, drinks were good and service quality was high, although things were a little slow (we took it in stride though given we were in a resort where things are a bit laid back). The second night we ate in the main dining room and wanted an appetizer which is only offered in the bar. Our server didn't blink and went next door to get it from the bar and bring it back to the restaurant. What terrific service! We were delighted with the guest focus promoted by each employee. Cabins are rustic with plenty of wood; plumbing a little worn out though. The property is beautiful. Overall, we were very pleased with our 2 night stay and would highly recommend it.

A great summer date or family activity is riding up the ski-lift during the full moon. The ski lift runs only the three days of the full moon starting at 8:30 pm and running until about 11:00 pm. The ride takes about 45 minutes. The line can get rather long waiting for tickets. I would recommend purchasing them ahead of time if possible. The little tent buy the ticket booth sells hot chocolate and homemade cookies if you need a quick snack for the ride. Two adult tickets cost $25.00. A single ticket is $15.00. See the Sundance website for specifics on dates. Take a cozy blanket to cuddle up in, the nights get a little cool on the mountain. A great way to start the evening is eating at the Foundry Grill by the lift. During these nights I would highly suggest making reservations. Let the parking attendant know you are eating at the restaurant for better parking right in front. Meals at the Grill run $15-30 ish dollars a piece. Have fun!

Spent a couple of hours at the Sundance Resort in the middle of a road trip. Being a huge catalog and store customer for years, visiting Sundance has always been on my list of places to visit.

We stopped in at the store, met a jewelry artist there for a trunk show, had a great little chat with her and bought some of her gorgeous earrings which was really cool! Then rode the chairlift up to the top of mountain and took in the gorgeous scenery! It was a fun interesting thing to do!

Although we spent just 2 or 3 hours there, we saw enough to know that we will be planning a trip back here to stay for a couple of days and ski!

Getting to Sundance Resort is a beautiful drive from almost any direction, and the beauty doesn't stop when you get there. We took the life to Ray's Summit and then hiked along a narrow trail to a picnic table where we could see a beautiful waterfall. Out of our bag came a bottle of wine, some tapas and salad and we were set for a wonderful picnic in one of the most beautiful settings imaginable.

Gorgeous setting. Went as a group of five. Took the short ski lift up to the top and hiked a bit. Beautiful views at the top.
