Overall, we loved Sundance. The layout is perfect in that the accommodations are somewhat hidden from view, making our walks around the grounds more like being in a lovely park. We reserved a regular room for 2 nights and were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a studio with fireplace, refrig, microwave in the River Run section. After figuring out how to cool down the room without turning on the A/C -- we opened the windows above our bed -- the room was very comfortable. Our only complaints were the lack of comfortable chairs in our room for relaxing in the evening and the fact that there were lots of stairs to climb to get to our unit (they are built on a hill). We didn't mind the stairs so much as not being told there were any and that you'd have to park a ways from your unit, meaning you had to haul your luggage a bit of a way. This could really be a problem for someone with disabilities. The grounds are gorgeous, the tram ride was perfect, meals delicious and the staff welcoming and helpful. We didn't get to hike all the trails around the resort but we will definitely be back again to do that.

From the very beginning the staff were exceptional with going above and beyond with service.
The suite we stayed in was far more than we expected with a master bedroom/bath and full kitchen with dinette. The private balcony was pleasant as we watched the wildlife and relaxed.

Room Tip: Beautiful place!

We booked three suites. No a/c in any of them. Back to front desk, three new suites. Two had a/c. One unit had a window unit, that was less than adequate. Suite two, had a portable floor unit, with a horizontal mount vent for the window. Unfortunately, the window was vertical, allowing the exhaust, the HOT exhaust, to come right back in the room. Third suite, third move, third time not the charm. The floor unit NEVER got the room even a little cool. After I shower, I spend 20 minutes blow drying my hair with 400 Watts, I want a decently cooled room. The Foundry food was only so, so.

Our natural setting typically provides cool mountain breezes that keep our rooms comfortable during the summer months and help conserve unnecessary energy usage. Unfortunately, during early July we had unseasonably warm temperatures. A few rooms that receive direct sunlight do have portable air conditioning units to help keep them cool. Thank you for sharing your concern and allowing our front desk staff to be of service during your stay.

Mixed feelings about the place. The actual location was gorgeous and had great hiking. For the price we were not that impressed though. We stayed 2 nights for our honeymoon in the suites and must have been placed in the family section. We could hear the families ( with small kids) at all hours. It was not very relaxing. Also, the bed was the hardest, most uncomfortable bed I've slept in. We ordered room service from the deli, we expected it to be pricey, but our 1 dish chicken, mashed potatoes, and broccoli cost $50! I Don't know that we would go back.

This was our first time and Sundance, we stayed 2 nights and wish we would have stayed a 3rd. It's a beautiful, relaxing location with plenty to do if you love the outdoors. We took the ski lift for a ride which we really enjoyed, incredible scenery! Take your camera! The service was excellent and everyone went out of their way to be helpful. The reason I am giving this a "4" is because of something kind of odd in the room. There was no satellite receiver, but a satellite remote and there were instructions on using the DVD player, which was also missing. It's not like we went there to just watch TV, but it would have been nice to watch the news or a late movie or whatever. Overall, can't wait to go back!

We are glad that you enjoyed your stay at Sundance! Each room does have a satellite receiver and it may have been located inside of the Media Center. The DVD player should have also been inside of the Media Center cabinet. Our front desk is always available to assist with any issues in your room, so please feel free to give them a call. We can’t wait to have you back at Sundance.

I can see why Mr. Redford fell in love with this place in the 1960s. Amazing views and unbelievable country, but this was just the half of it. The cottage we stayed in was perfect, great deck with a view that overlooked the resort with pine trees that seemed to never end. The room had a great cabin feel that made our stay feel very natural. The hardest part of the trip was wanting to get out of the bed in the morning. The staff was awesome, they made dinner reservations for us, drove us to our cottage and even gave us recommendations on which Robert Redford film we should watch that night (they are free at the front desk). I can't wait to book our next trip to Sundance Resort.

Room Tip: Any room is great, it's a win win for everyone.

stayed at the Sundance resort for 5 days during a business training course. Mixed enough work with fun - chairlift ride, fly fishing, hiking and bbq. Accommodations are spread though out the resort and my condo was up the hill from the main buildings (Mandan section). You can walk or get a ride to your unit from the bell staff. Rustically decorated 1br unit with everything I needed and more. Staff are well trained and attentive, food provided during meetings far exceeded my expectations. Onsite restaurants, outfitters, gift shop, craft studios and event spaces make it a self contained place to visit - good thing because there isn't much nearby. Looks like a great small ski area with challenging terrain.
