“Grreat skiing and resort but not so great at the ski school”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 29, 2013

Great skiing and a beautiful resort. My kids had two great days at ski school but the third day was not very good. The first two days the kids were well placed in their groups and had great instructors. On the third day there were not very many kids in the black levels so they combined the groups. My older son who is a very advanced skier spent his morning on groomed runs because other kids in the group didn't want to ski trees or moguls. Two days earlier he spent his whole day doing that plus some easier cliff jumping. My advice is ask a lot of questions and don't leave the ski area until you are comfortable you know where your kids are being placed. We would have been better off pulling our kids from class and putting them in on a busier day when they had more skiers to maybe match abilities as they had on prior days.

Also, be sure to ask the instructor for the progress report that they are suppose to fill out about how your child is progressing in their skills.

The ski school manager offered to let my son take the class again on Saturday for half price which i thought was reasonable. That turned into a fiasco. Somehow the mountain school stafff calculates half price as $100. Well I paid $130 as part of my package through snowbird and the posted rate is $155. The explained that is simply the half price discount rate which is ridiculous.

Where else can you take a lift track through a cave? Or take an enormous gondola that's so big they had to bring in the Swiss to build it? Snowbird WILL blow your mind! And is my personal favorite!Snowbird is a wonderland of varried terrain and amazing pockets of isolated powder valleys and shutes. If you go to Snowbird you MUST ride the Mineral Basin!

I stayed at the resort as part of a conference. The rooms are large and very comfortable but what striked me most was the beautiful view of the mountains with snow all around. The spa is the perfect place to get luxury spoiling treatments. The cliff offers 2 restaurants and we enjoyed the mexican food very much.

Room Tip: top floors with mountain view

This is my second business conference here at Snowbird. As previous reviews point out, the hotel is very convenient for skiing. Each guest room comes with a ski locker, nice touch.
The hotel is laid out in a little different fashion vs other business conference hotels which makes for some wandering around to find things, but the staff is very friendly and helpful.
The room was clean, spacious and meet my needs...The Cliffs.
You will pay for the convenience to stay here vs staying in another location down the mountain in Sandy, but if time is important to you and the convenience of not having to drive around is also a factor for you, it's worth the stay at Snowbird.

The snow was quite amazing. The tram lines were long but it was worth it. This mountain does not have long runs but the fluffy snow is worth it. Watch out for trees though!! They come out of nowhere at times

stayed at the Snowbird cliff lodge hotel and found out superb rooms, clean bathrooms, comfortable bed, excellent view of the ski mountain sight, unbelievably respnsive and courteous front desk personnel and excellent service in the lodge and the restaurants. I would recommend this lodge to any one who visits Snowbird either for relaxation or for skiing experience. The canyon transport from Saltlake City airport to and from could not have been better than my experience.

Room Tip: request a room with view of the ski slopes.

First time skiing in the U.S and i gotta say very impressed. Stayed at the Snowbird Ski Resort in Feb this year and I had a great time. The location can't be beat. You have lifts right at your doorstep which is very convenient. The rooms were a very good size, nice and clean and had great view. Overall 5/5. Would recommend to everyone, will come back.
