“Much improved!”
Reviewed March 14, 2013

I reviewed the Aerie last year and this is an update. We were very disappointed with the food and service last year but the kitchen and staff are much more in the groove this year. The staff is pleasant and attentive and we had several items we enjoyed - the trout, the beet salad, the corn chowder and the sushi rolls. Keep up the good work!

“Ski bumb service, ski bumb food”
Reviewed March 11, 2013

The service was poor and the food was even worse. We were served by young men and women who came to Snowbird from all parts of the country to ski. They ski during the day and wait tanbles in the evenings. They were lazy and unmotivated and didn't really seem to care if their customers were happy or not. The food seemed to be purchased and prepared by the same type of people. The steak was tough, the salmon was obviously previously frozen and the pork shank was undercooked. Never going back.

“Just average”
Reviewed March 4, 2013

For a signature restaurant, The Aerie fell short of my expectations. The decor and views were spectacular, but the food was just average. Our first meal here was dinner, and while we had several appetizers, entree, and dessert nothing stood out. I actually though the seafood options were better than the steaks, however. Breakfast was a skiier's buffet ($18) with a wide variety of selections, including a custom omelette bar. The menu items changed very little each between the four times we had breakfast here. The omelette bar and smoked salmon stood out, while other things were hit or miss (overcooked bacon, dry scrambled eggs, stale bagels, fresh fruit platter needed refilling often). We tried the sushi for dinner on our last night, and it continued the trend of just being average. Overall, not bad, but not memorable.

“Amazing views. Tasty food.”
Reviewed March 2, 2013

We stopped in with a large group of friends hanging in the comfy lounge. With half priced appetizers until 6pm, we decided to order a bunch to share for our meal. They were all very good. The views, though, were the most amazing thing (even the view from the bathroom was spectacular). Our server, Leah, was amazing, remembering everyone's drink and perfectly splitting our checks by couple (even as we moved all around to socialize).

“Average at best”
Reviewed February 25, 2013

Had dinner at The Aerie on two seperate evenings with a group of friends, both experiences average at best. There are surprisingly very few dining choices in Snowbird so it seems as though this restaurant has a bit of a captive audience. On both evenings the food was just average, service actually not so good. A number of requests were forgotten for example, for a drink or dessert. Servers overall were bland, much like the food. Sushi bar just reopened one evening and not available another. Was on the expensive side. Would I return, no.
