“Wouldn't return! ”
Reviewed October 6, 2013 via mobile

Being in the Restaurant and Hospitality business, I can say, I tend to offer forgiveness and have understanding of a restaurant if it has some flaws, or not quite what most restaurants offer in service and selection however, this restaurant was by far a huge disappointment! Hoping to have a nice dinner with a small town atmosphere, friendly service and quality food was not quite how I'd explain this visit! The place was a self seat yourself at which it took a moment to be acknowledged and once the waitress did attend to our table, she wasn't exactly friendly. Gave us basic what would you guys like to drink, grab our waters tossed us our menus and then proceeded to attend to other tables. It took about 15min before the waitress came back to the table to take our order. Still once again very unpleasant and not much of a personality. We order the Country Fried Steak with the salad bar option. The salad bar was probably the worst set up I've ever seen. The lettuce and condiments didn't seem to be fresh? The potato salad tasted sour and the macaroni salad appeared and taste like it had been marinating in Italian dressing for weeks. The waitress never pre bussed our table of salad plates before our entrees came. The Country Fried Steak was mediocre at best. Potatoes seemed to be make from the dry potato flakes, "just add hot water and whip," and the plate up was very poor. I did enjoy the Crape and Honey butter from a bottle. Was something I felt this restaurant could build from and make it known for this particular bread service. Once our meals were completed, the bill arrived yet was told to take it to the counter to cash out when we were ready. It took a while to cash out as we waited for someone to run my credit card to take care of the bill. Was asked how everything was and then presented with credit card receipt to sign. No, thanks you, No come visit us again, NOTHING! Good luck for those of you have not visited this restaurant! May your visit be more of an enjoyable experience then mine was! If you get a gal in a bright neon orange t-shirt, run!

“Gooey Pie, Sticky Surfaces”
Reviewed August 23, 2013

We're 5 minutes away from the worst apple pie the 3 of us have ever eaten (and 2 of us are from Utah). Mom needs to go back to 4H to relearn pie making. Minutely diced apple in a gooey and tasteless corn starch filling with a bulky, heavy crust. Our lunch entrees were passable but the overall experience was dragged down by the horrible pie. A health inspection is recommended due to sticky counter surfaces, table top and restroom door knobs. Servers were brusque. Come to experience the local color not the food.

“A Cultural Experience”
Reviewed August 11, 2013

If you're wanting a cultural experience, eat here. No, the food isn't healthy or even very good. The Californians all want fresh fruits and nuts which isn't going to happen in the middle of nowhere. But I've had great food (abeit calorie laden) in the middle of nowhere and this isn't it. The wait staff are probably unfriendly. You are in the heart of rural Mormon country. You are more than an outsider, you're a gentile. Read the ratings from people living in Utah that ate here. Totally different story - see UtahLion. Wait staff friendly, smiling, food great. It wasn't an accident that the terrible / poor experiences were vastly different from this reviewer. If you go, chalk this up to a cultural experience, enjoy it and learn.

“Lots of hype, but food very mediocre and expensive.”
Reviewed August 9, 2013

We always look for local places , especially those who say they make home cooked food. There was nothing home cooked about this- fish was old and chewy, veges were from the bottom of the bag, and they even gave us a bottle of honey-butter " flavored" stuff for a fried bread type thing they brought. I mean- you can't mix up honey and butter? Below average, and $30 for lunch for two.
