I prize a great tasting meal. Yeah, presentation is nice, service is important, ambiance so-so, its really all about the meal. I'd rather have a fab meal in a dive then a so-so meal in a 5 star joint. This place has a fun atmosphere, really pleasant and helpful staff, nice presentation with the steaks on display at the front door, but the food itself is so-so. They get it a little more than half right. My husband's prime rib was tasty on the outer 1/4 inch but the rest was tasteless and rubbery. I ordered the ribs & fries appetizer and the ribs were so dry they crunched. The cook smothered them in overly syrupy sweet BBQ sauce, but it was clear they were trying to cover up that they were old. Totally inedible. BUT- the house wine was excellent and a great pour, the fries hot, fresh, crispy and flavorful and the rolls were outstanding! If they could get the meat tweaked just a bit with some training and quality control this place could realy excel. However, I dont think St George is a foodie mecca so perhaps this is as good as it gets. I would give them a second chance and try a grilled steak.
