“Take in the history of St. George”
Reviewed July 10, 2014

Yes, you are toured by retired LDS members, and you are touring the winter home of one of the prominent members of the church, but Brigham Young was also the governor of the Utah territory at the same time. So, this home represents the intrinsic connection between the settling of Utah by the Morman settlers - heavier on the historical than the religious information-and is worth a Gstop. As a bonus, on a very hot St. George day (105 degrees), the house has been modernized with air conditioning!

“Very educational”
Reviewed June 21, 2014 via mobile

My husband and I love history and to tour old homes, so this was a delight to go through. It was a nice tour and the gentleman that gave us the tour was very nice and informative. I was particularly impressed with the faux painting of the furniture and the fire place that looked like marble but was pine. The craftsmanship back 100 years ago was amazing.

“Nice Tour”

The tour is interesting and the guide was nice.

Beware the stairs -- they're very steep and a much taller step than modern steps.

“Great tour”

Learned a lot and it was nice and cool inside. Enjoyed learning about the silkworms too! Master craftsmen work evident throughout the entire bldg. Thought modern use of ventilation for air condition was terrific. Very informative tour guides.

“Short tour that is worth a visit”
Reviewed June 16, 2014

Our family stopped by this site while in St. George. The tour of the house was short and very informative and the furnishings and other belongings of the early people were fascinating to see. there is no charge for the tour and the LDS missionaries that walk you around are polite and respectful. I love visiting old homes and seeing the lifestyles of the people during these times. It was a great tour.
