“Visitor center and grounds only...but very unique!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

This gorgeous white building is the center piece to a busy community. Built by pioneers, it is the first operational Mormon temple, even before the Salt Lake City Temple! The visitor center is an excellent place for families and groups to spend a hot afternoon. The temple grounds are always decorated with beautiful flowers and sometimes baby hawks are seen nesting in the tall old trees.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

Beautiful setting. Includes a history of the area and the building of the Temple. Everybody is welcome. One can spend a few minutes or hours in the visitor center. The Temple grounds are well kept and a peaseful place to relax and enjoy

I love coming to this Temple. It is so beautiful and peaceful. The visitor center is great as well if you would like to learn more about temples and the LDS Church.

“oldest LDS temple still in operation!”

Beautiful pioneer construction, standing stark white against the desert landscape. Check out the ripe fig tree (July) on the south side of the building!

“jpimpressive structure, expert marketing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2013

The LSD temple is a beautiful building located in the center of St. George. I thought it was interesting to find out the lighting bill is paid by the city because it is a tourist attraction. The building is actually red sandstone painted white and must have been quite an undertaking when it was built. The visitor center is very informative but be aware the center exists for the purpose of evangelizing visitors. The grounds are meticulously maintained and provide a reprieve from the stark southern Utah landscape. It is an interesting place to visit and offers a chance to see the Mormon marketing machine in action.
