After the visitor center experience, I was much happier visiting the Jacob Hamlin home on the edge of town. Jacob Hamlin was renowned for his work in the LDS church and his interactions with the Native Americans he encountered. The cabin has been well preserved and each room contains interesting items from the Hamlin family. The guide was very knowledgeable and the parts of his talk about the LDS church was not too heavy handed. We spent maybe an hour at the home. Well worth the 10 minute drive from St. George!
