“Highly rated but not as good as the EGG AND I !”
Reviewed June 2, 2013

Went once for breakfast to this highly touted place...waited quite awhile but the wait wasn't worth it! The breakfast took an age to arrive and was nothing to write home about...just your average diner-fare. The coffee, however, was good and strong! I rate this place as considerably inferior to The Egg and I which had a more varied menu and better quality food. The place was not airy ... really cramped and none-too-comfortable!

“Soggy Belgian waffle”
Reviewed May 29, 2013

We were served served their famous Belgian waffle with frozen strawberries in syrup hidden under the whipped cream - soggy, uneatable mess. The #8 breakfast special tasted like it had been cooked an hour earlier. Slow, slow service, it seemed everyone was on break for 15 minutes. Buyer beware!

“Tasty food”
Reviewed May 28, 2013

Excellent service and food. It is almost to much food on your plate both my wife and I couldn't finish our meals, I had sausage and eggs with hash browns and she had biscuits and gravy with home style potatoes they ate seasoned very good.

“Bad food+no service+arguing manager=never again!”
Reviewed May 19, 2013

We were on a family vacation to St George and heard that the Bear Paw was the best breakfast in town. My sister was hesistant and she read recent reviews that said the quality of the Bear Paw had gone down in recent months. We decided to try anyway.

We had a large group of 21 and we were seating fairly quickly at 3 tables on on a friday morning. The waitress came and took our order, she had no idea about any menu item that we asked her about, other than "everyone loves it" or its "very popular".

We asked what was in the special of the morning, the blue crab omelet and she said "crab". When asked what else she said I dont know and asked the manager, this shorter asian lady came out and said it had crab it in! When asked what else, she said maybe green onions? maybe tomato? It seemed aparent that no one there knew anything about the special they claimed everyone ordered and loved.

So we ordered the trapper omelete, french toast, eggs benedict, trapper quiche, scrambled eggs and other items. Nothing I tasted was that good. Dennys has a much better breakfast! The eggs benedict were sent back, the omelete was kind of dry and rubbery. It was basically egg just served on top of some vegetables, the omelet wasn't folded over. The scrambled eggs were very overcooked. The quiche was literally the worst I have ever tasted, it was so bland we had everyone else have a taste to see how mad it was. It also had a very unappetizing texture.

We told the server who seemed unapologetic, but when we pushed she said she would remove it from the check. Then the manager came over and we told her the same. She became arugmentative that they have the best quiche and everyone else loved it and she wasn't taking it off the bill. She did offer 20% off on the omelet.

The food was outright bad, never had anything taste like that. The service was horrible. I will never go back.

“Great place!”
Reviewed May 7, 2013

As frequent travelers through Utah we used to stop in St. George just to catch lunch or breakfast at the Bear Paw. Later when we happily retired to St. George we continued to frequent this restaurant. Now whenever we have visitors, it is our treat and personal satisfaction to take our overnight guests to the Bear Paw or breakfast or lunch. It has been consistent with hight quality of everything on the menu. If you come to St. George, don't miss eating at the Bear Paw.
