“Delightful food”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

The atmosphere and first impression is not as great as the food. I've been there twice and the food is prepared with fresh items that are appropriate to the season. So good.

“Two nights, two excellent dinners”
Reviewed November 2, 2012

We ate at Painted Pony on two successive evenings during a recent visit to St. George. The restaurant is located upstairs in Ancestor Square (a small mall) and has a pleasant Southwestern ambiance. Some tables are outside on a lovely patio while others look out on a courtyard below. Both nights the service was first class and the food ranged from very good (Moroccan chicken) to memorable (arugula salad and the bone-in pork chop). The salads and the side dishes we ate were quite creative, with nice presentation. The portions are large but not over-sized, and a salad plus an appetizer made a good meal for the lighter eater of the two of us. The wine list was very good and by-the-glass wines were reasonably priced. We did not eat dessert, but the dessert menu was tempting. If we lived in St George we'd eat there often (and try the desserts)!

“Great Food, Great Service”

We had an excellent dinner at Painted Pony. The beet salad, bacon wrapped duck and tuna were all excellent. Service was attentive and professional.

“All-'Round 5 Star Restaurant at a Great Value”
Reviewed October 22, 2012

It was most unfortunate that we only had an opportunity to try lunch here, but this restaurant nestled in the tree-tops of St. George provided us a dining experience. The food is fresh & flavorful, the decor charming and eclectic, and the service superb -- and all at an affordable price! If in the area, you must give this local eatery a try! If we're ever blessed to be back in the area, we'll definitely return again -- and again :-)
