“What happened to this place?”
Reviewed March 31, 2013 via mobile

This is the third time we have visited this Black Bear Diner, something has changed. First, when we arrived it was early with few tables. We were sat at the worse table in the house sitting to the side of the food bar and door to kitchen and/dish station. Host ran off so fast I had to hunt someone else down to get a different table. Ham was burnt (they tried to hide it by placing the burnt side down - duh!). Cobb salad looked impressive until you tried to eat it, lettuce not cut up and few toppings. Fries dry and lukewarm that came with chicken tenders that had an awful flavor. Finally, they have cut back the granola in their pancakes, tasted more like a whole wheat pancakes, rather than a granola with almonds pancakes. Amongst everything else, it was also difficult to get refills on our drinks and water. Unfortunately, we won't be returning.

“Evil”
Reviewed March 24, 2013

They're evil. I'm trying to avoid carbs, but their country potatoes can't be ignored. They sneak up and, BANG!; there they are on your plate, begging to be eaten.
What's a guy to do?
Great food-great service.

“Breakfast All Day”
Reviewed March 19, 2013

We always enjoy dining at "The Bear". Lots of choices and my significant other can get his breakfast fix and I get my salad and a glass of wine at the same time. Portions are far more than enough. Good value, lots of families. Can't go wrong.

“Good comfort food”
Reviewed March 15, 2013

Convenient to where we stayed, had 3 meals there. The chicken fried steak was great, best pea soup I have ever had, meat loaf better than Mom's. Salad was crisp and dressing on the side. Portions were very large.
