“Better than expected”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 25, 2013

I had never been here and wasn't sure what to expect. I was happily surprised. For a fast food place the food was good and the service was excellent. Very helpful. The building does appear to be falling apart.

“Rancherito's = lots of food, good food, cheap price”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 7, 2011

Due to a lawsuit with another chain who also wanted the Beto name, they are now called Rancheritos. This restaurant is a normal stop on our weekly lunch circuit at work, sometimes twice in a week.

It is NOT high quality fancy food, but rather lots of standard Mexican style food made by Mexicans in a fast food environment at a good price. This is the best of four restaurants of this chain in the Layton to Ogden area that I have patronized. This particular store makes a good Veggie Burrito (beans, cheese, pico, lettuce) and does not ruin it with sour cream like others do (my 'normal' lunch item). The tamale plate combo is enough food for two meals, I wrap the beans, rice, pico, cheese in the two 14 inch or so tortillas and have them for dinner. The rolled tacos (taquitos?) are tasty, the plain breakfast burrito is usually a bit dry but great for taking to the airport for an early flight and very filling and satisfying, and the refried beans are tasty.

There is a small condiment bar that has sliced cucumbers, pickled carrots and peppers and several hot sauces.

This is NOT a health food store, but it is stick to your ribs good food if you like Mexican style food. And the lunch counter clerk is good people, and we go there too much because she remembers us and always has a smile.
