“Sure bet”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 11, 2013

Ruby River is always a safe bet if you are entertaining or have guests. You can always be asured you will get a good steak and professional service. The resturant is always clean and comfortable. Enjoy one of their great appetizers while you relax and wait a little for your entree.

“Don't worry about it being attached to a hotel!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 10, 2012

Hotel restaurants aren't know for their great food....only the convenience for travelers. Don't worry about the hotel part at all! Ruby River does great steaks and sides. I had cheese fries and a chocolate shake once (healthy combo, I know!) and the shake was the best ever!

“Slow service”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 3, 2012

First thing I noticed when we walked in was how loud the music was playing ! We got there early in the afternoon (4pm) and they weren't busy. Waiter didn't show up until we were seated about 10 minutes..........drinks came 10 minutes later........appetizer...........15 minutes after that...........meal 20 minutes later.............you get the picture. Food was good and hot, just took along time.

“Don't know if it was an off night?”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 12, 2012

First the positives - free peanuts, the bread was hot and fresh, and the wedge salad seemed crisp and fresh, and the atmosphere was nice, sat beside the gas fireplace at a high top table.

The service wasn't super slow, but not super fast.

Wish there were more good things to say, but the prime rib was at least 6 ounces of fat out of the 12, and in big clumps and not marbled into the meat at all whatsoever. Had to put the au jus on another table so I could have room to operate on the prime rib - and so it wouldn't splash out of the cup - while sawing off the side and end fat and carving out the edible pieces.

The steamed vegetables were tender like you would expect for being steamed, but somehow for being steamed was wondering why the were cold. Not cool - but refridgerator cold. So I know they were steamed earlier and reheated in the microwave. One side was hot and the other cold. Didn't eat it or the sauteed mushrooms. Shrooms were kind of bleh and I was full from the peanuts and what bit of prime rib I was able to eat. I skipped ordering the pumpkin creme brulee since I didn't have much hope for it being good.

Don't know how all the good reviews came in, maybe it's good for Utah? I didn't expect Ruth's Chris for the price, but would have been more satisfied at fast food.

I'm glad the hotel was across the street, barely made it back in time. Will spare the details.

Would not recommend, other than to recommend avoiding. Will not be back.

“Great steak house with local flare”

The filet is fantastic. Love the handcrafted rootbeer and cream soda. When I want a great steak in Provo Ruby River is where I'll be.
