“Not what I expected...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 6, 2009

LOCATION: The best thing about this hotel is its location. It is located in 'Old Town' Park City and we just love that area. You are close to shopping, restaurants and there is a ski lift right across the street.

CLEANLINESS: Is fine the problem is that they don't keep up on the minor details like patching up dings on the walls or baseboards, basically the whole inside looked like it had some wear and needed to be painted which gave the effect that the hotel is dirty. It wasn't the sheets were clean and the towels too but the lack of upkeep made it seem run down and not clean at all

SERVICE: Was great. When we arrived we were in a nice room but it faced a boring road so we asked for a upper floor room with a view of main street which they found for us and were great about it. No problems with the service. They also have a great room and things to do for kids. Everyday there is a schedule in the elevator of things to do, example, tie dye socks, exercise classes, arts and crafts, etc.

VALUE: I was a little surprised at the rate as I paid $139 for 1 night in late August. Park City is a winter destination and I know the prices are a lot higher then so I was expecting something around $75-100 but it wasn't high enough for us not to stay at this hotel because we are paying more to be on main street.

ROOMS: Are a good size, ours had a king size bed, sofabed and a small kitchen. Worked just fine for us.

PROS: LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION
CONS: Price

OTHER THINGS TO CONSIDER: They fashioned this hotel to look like a ski lodge but the problem with this is most of the building are not connected so you have to walk out side or underground in the parking garage to get from the front desk to your room or from your room to the pool. So if you are going in the winter make sure to bring a change of clothes to the pool so you don't have to walk back in a wet bathing suit. And try and get a room close to the pool. Another thing I want to mention is that the buildings that are on main street have shops, restaurants and bars under them so I wouldn't stay on the 2nd floor because you can hear the music and people all night until they close.

We stayed at Summit Watch Aug 26 -Aug 30 2009 and had a great time. We are Marriott owners at Newport Beach and exchanged to Park City. Park City this time of year is very quiet but we enjoyed shopping on Main Street just steps away from our room. Our 2-bedroom villa was very large and spacious. The unit was clean and comfortable. The beds were very comfortable. I enjoyed the mountain atmosphere with cool nights and warm days. Plenty of restaurants to choose from on Main Street. We got groceries at Albertsons down the road and with a full kitchen, we never were hungry, especially when
the little store next to the lobby had popcorn and sweets. The staff was friendly and professional. I would suggest if you stay there during warm weather months, take advantage of the Park City ski area summer activities, such as The Coaster, The Slide and Zip Lining. We had our own cars and drove over the mountain using route 224. Most of it is dirt road, but very well maintained and smooth, and easy for any car. The views were beautiful. We ended up on the other side in Midway and had lunch at Tarahumara, a good Mexican food restaurant. Another good Mexican food restaurant in Park City is Bajio down by Interstate 80. If you're looking for activities in Salt Lake City, it's only a 30 minute drive to downtown.

We traded into this property via Interval International. This Marriott is a timeshare accommodation, so people should be aware that this is not a standard hotel with an on-site restaurant and room service. However, as a timeshare goes, it does a great job as a comfy, central ski base.

We had a two bedroom “villa” which was more than enough room for five. Each bedroom had its own bathroom, and the master had a large soaking tub in it. The central area was a full kitchen, dining area and living room with gas fireplace. As soon as you entered the unit was a spacious foyer with a washer/dryer in the closet. We were in a newly remodeled unit in the Wasatch building.

We came to Park City to ski and had plenty of options all around us. Summit Watch is centrally located at the north end of town right across a pedestrian bridge that leads to the Town lift of Park City Mountain resort (PCMR). We’d put our warm ski boots on in the room each day, pick up our skis from the storage area downstairs and walk about 50 feet to the Town lift. When we didn’t want to ski PCMR, free shuttles picked you up downtown and whisked you off to Deer Valley or the Canyons. We found discounted tickets for each hill in Salt Lake City at Canyon Sports and Costco.

When our kids found out about all the terrific activities Marriott had going on for them, we had a harder time getting them out on the slopes. In a separate Aquacade building was a kids’ activity center with great programs, indoor/outdoor pool and three large hot tubs. The hot tubs were busy every day after skiing, but if you wanted a peaceful soak, you only had to wait until after dinner.

There were so many options for dinner just steps outside your door. Some nights we cooked in, while others we just strolled along picturesque Main Street looking for a good place to eat. The location and ambience of Summit Watch can’t be beat. We will be back!

I highly recommend the Summit Watch Park City because it is located right next to Main Street. The Summit Watch is surrounded by restaurants, shops and beautiful scenery. Our rooms were very spacious, clean and recently renovated. They have an outdoor/indoor pool and several hot tubs which is great. This is a time share location so they have several activities for kids and families. The employees were very kind and attentive. We were very happy with our stay at the Summit Watch.

We were pleasantly surprised upon our arrival into Salt Lake City,Utah to see snow on the mountains. Considering that it would be the last week of skiing for the majority of resorts in the area. April 11th to the 18th. Nothing can beat the convenience of skiing in Utah. It is fast and easy from the time you pick up your rental car to getting on to the highway and up to the mountains about 1/2hr.- 40 mins. at the worst unless its snowing heavily. You can actually be skiing the sameday! We did research before leaving home that Park City was staying open until the 18th.We had also decided we would relax and enjoy the area even if there was not enough snow to ski comfortably. We had not been in Utah for about 11 years. before the Olympics. The whole Park City area has expanded dramatically. Deer Valley would be closing but we still had Alta and Snowbird to rely on even though it would take about 1/2 hour to get there from Park City. The drive up Big Cottonwood Canyon is beautiful especially after a big snow. Alta was staying open until the 18th and Snowbird remains open until May. We traded our timeshare through Interval for the Marriot Summit Watch. We had a large 2 bedroom 2 bathroom with spatub unit newly renovated. It was approx. 1400 sq. ft. It was beautiful, comfortable, clean. Our rooms faced Main St. we did open our windows at night for fresh air there were some late night partyers on the street who were loud. Probably during the high season it can be pretty noisy. No maid service but that was fine we are neat freaks anyway!! Very conveniently located at the base of Main St. This time of year the place is practically a ghost town which was fine with us! We had not been on skis for about 11 years and now had our 11yr. old daughter with us to introduce to skiing. Better late than never! The location was excellent everything was at our doorstep.Plenty of restaurants right outside the resort as well as ski rental shops etc. Purchased a brand new pair of ski boots at Bahnhof Sports. Ryan Smith was knowledgeable and was able to fit me perfectly with a new pair of boots. Highly recommend this shop. We could park anywhwere as we imagined in the skiing high season it is probably madness. There are lots of great shops, galleries, restaurants, some were closed for springbreak and would reopen for the summer season. We had alot of meals at Wasatch Brewery easy, cheap and convenient after skiing, located at the top of Main Street. Great beers and ales to sample. The supermarket was approximately 2 miles away. The weather was mostly cloudy some days had light rain but snow in the mountains,we were blessed with a big snowstorm midweek they got a couple of feet overnight especially over at Alta and Snowbird. We skied 3 out of 5 days at Alta. Beautiful conditions as we were getting our feet back and had our child in Ski school. She was a bit reluctant but because of the wonderful instructors at Alta she now wants to continue to ski. They were really friendly, soft spoken. patient and gentle. She went from the bunny hill to down the moutain in 3 days. Our hats off to the wonderful instructors at Alta. The geographical location of Alta and Snowbird guarantees really good spring skiing. If you stay at Snowbird you can also ski at Alta since there is a linking rope tow to take you from one area to the other and you dont have to go anywhwere else the best spring skiing is right there. Take plenty of sun block and wear layers for peeling off or putting back on the weather and temperatures can be quite changeable. The cost is definitely a bargain too. We visited Deer Valley Easter Sunday, it was a beautiful sunny day but we decided to relax that day, having arrived the day before, they had great conditions it was their last day open. We were hoping they were going to stay open for another week since it was so convenient from Park City but also the cost of a one day adult ticket about $86 was discouraging.we had skied there years ago and thought it would be the right place for our daughter to begin skiing. Yes, they limit the amount of tickets, the resort is luxurious and beautiful, the food in the cafeterias is excellent , you can hobnob with millionaires, there are no annoying snowboarders, sorry you guys and girls but you are for us diehard skiers! If you are on a budget its not the place for you. Also we noticed a new highend resort in the Deer Valley area under construction with a funicular from the hotel to the slopes this will be quite spectacular when it opens but probably you'll need to win the lottery to stay there! Also had a very good meal at Ruth Chris Steak House very nice atmosphere, very attentive semi- formal service was not expecting this for a steakhouse. It was located at The Park City Hotel, considered a luxury property away from the hubbub of Main St. You will love skiing in Utah. Utah is great to visit all year and is home to some of the most beautiful national parks. Park City is too far away ,you must stay in St. George to be conveniently located to them.Enjoy!

We stayed in a one bedroom suite with a full kitchen. All rooms have been remodeled. The location is right on Main Street in Park city, and there are 30 restaurants within a few blocks. The pool area is kind of small, but there is plenty of room in the hot tubs (makes sense for a ski resort.) Bring good walking shoes and a camera.

We just had a great stay here. I read the previous reviews before we left and was worried but I guess they have remodeled much of the place and the rest is in process. None of the pictures I found on the web (even on Marriotts own site) reflect the renovation - very tasteful and well done. The 2br condo consists of 2 units actually, one has a large king bedroom with huge bathroom and jacuzzi tub and a large separate kitchen/dining/living area with gas fireplace and pullout queen couch. The other unit is a king bedroom with pullout queen and a little wetbar/microwave small dining area, smaller bathroom. You can rent these separately or together as a 2br unit. I am guessing the reviewers complaining about it being small rented the non kitchen side only because we all thought the place was really nice and spacious. Great beds too.

The kitchen was fully equipped (we even catered a party out of it for a friend who lives in town). The staff was very nice, service was fine, not outstanding, but it was off season and the town was very sleepy (really great actually) and we werent expecting five star kiss your tushy service - its a mountain town - relax. The view was not that great but the hotel is situated behind a steep hill, maybe other rooms have a better view I am not sure but the location cant be beat, you can walk to all the main street shops and restaurants and unfortunately the bars:) Lots of shops and restaurants right in the resort too but they were closed for the off season. Grocery store a 5 minute drive. Nice indoor outdoor pool area with 3 hot tubs and if you have kids they seem to have a fantastic kids rec center and activity program.

All in all a great stay and I would recommend, park city is a great place to get together with old friends - easy access, cute as it can be.
