After skiing all day, it was great to find this little yurt tucked away on our last run of the day. it was charming and warm and they served "real" beer and wine. Something you cannot find on the whole mountain because this Yurt is individually owned and operated. The service was great as well. We will definitely return.

Viking Yurt is a small restaurant in the middle of a ski resort track, only reachable by ski during the day, or by a special truck designated for that for the evening dinner, which is the purpose of this review.
There is a meeting point at the Park City Mountain Resort and the 32 happy guests( reservations are
mandatory, place is small!)take an opened snowcar with blankets and go 25 minutes uphill. At the arrival guests are received with a Gnogg, which is a norwegian berries drink. There is a five course menu( one price only)and you can choose if you want to buy the wine there or bring your own( cork fee applicable). After a few acquaint

glasses the whole group of guests are already a " family" that makes a lot of good noise! We were put on a table with a lovely italian couple, and we took a lot of pictures with a Viking hat that is available for that.Finishing dinner we take the same snowcar to go back to the meeting point. It is a 4 hours lovely and different experience that worths the visit!!

It's so much fun to arrive at this quiet mountain yurt by sleigh, and be welcomed into the Norwegian ambiance. It's a multi-course dinner served at one seating time, so it's kind of an adult "camp" feeling. Casual dress, but an elegent setting. Food and service both impeccable.

The challenge with Park City Mountain resort is that there are not many good dining options as compared to the competition (i.e. Deer Valley and Canyons). For lunch, this restaurant was a pleasant surprise. It is tiny (maybe 8 tables). And the menu is sparse...a few soup and sandwich options and the desserts they are famous for. But what is on the many is surprisingly good. I have passed this place many times and never took it seriously. After reading a review in a local magazine, I decided to give it a try.

Glad I did. I will be back. It is a cozy place with fresh food selections and you avoid the madness of the big resort restaurant cafeterias.
