“Ski and stay in Park City”
Reviewed March 17, 2014 via mobile

This is not a ski in / out resort. However you are very close to all three ski area's. The city has free bus service. The staff is very friendly and the rooms are nice. The cost is reasonable for the area. Loy's of places to eat right out the door . Excellent views of the mountains.

This hotel is great in terms of the amenities and the lodging in general. What makes this place different, though is their willingness to help a guest with a problem. I am here for the Franchise UnConference and to do some serious skiing. When I arrived today, I realized that I had accidentally left my skis at the airport. Semi-panic... I called the shuttle transfer company that I used to get to the Newpark and got no help. I then decided to go to the hotel desk to see if they could help me. Smiling all the time, the manager listened to my problem and promised to help me get my skis to the hotel. She was awesome, friendly and her staff followed through. In a couple of hours as I was passing through the lobby to go back to my room, one of the attendants said "Mr. Smith, we have your skis". Amazing! I highly recommend this hotel for your stay in the Park City ski area!! Great job guys, and thank you!!!

Room Tip: The suites are awesome with great views, a fireplace, a balcony with a hot tub.

A room is basically a place to sleep, and the pillow-top bed, fluffy pillows and 300 thread-count sheet delivered it to a T. Add a gas fireplace and big TV, and it's a great place to wind down. It's located in a fairly new shopping center about 7 miles from the ski areas with numerous restaurants and bars within walking distance. The Red Rock Brewery and Loco Lizard were our favorites. The room is clean, well-lit, and comfortable. The staff was very helpful and fixed a minor glitch very quickly.
About the quirks, the first was that the comfy bed was about 3 feet off the floor (a bit high) and the sheets were too short to tuck in and let our feet hang out a couple times. The "kitchenette" had a coffeemaker (but no tea or decaf) dishes, glasses, silverware fridge and sink, but no microwave oven. There were dishes and glasses for six, but silverware for four. The gym area had about six different machines, but no free weights.

Room Tip: The "deluxe" room has no microwave, so you have to move up to the "one bedroom"...

Dear Gary4556:

Thank you very much for taking the time to review Newpark Resort on TripAdvisor.com. As the Front Office Manager, it is always a pleasure to receive feedback from our guests. We take guest feedback with the highest of importance and appreciate your constructive criticisms.

I wanted to address some of the quirky touches. We apologize as we do have tea and decaf coffee available to guests at the front desk, but as we don't get many requests, we do not stock the room with them. As for microwaves, we have received this complaint before and are in the process of installing microwaves throughout the hotel common spaces to accommodate the guest need for a microwave. Thank you for the suggestion of the free weights, as I will definitely look into options to provide this amenity to guests.

Overall it seems as though you enjoyed your stay and we look forward to your future stay at Newpark Resort & Hotel. Be sure to follow NewparkResort.com and Facebook.com/NewparkResort for our “Repeat Guest” discount and special offers.

Great location for our first ski trip to Park City. Definitely would stay here again. Hotel was very quiet. Staff was excellent and accommodating. Loved that we could walk to restaurants, grocery stores and other shopping as needed. Easy drive to all three resorts (The Canyons, Park City, Deer Valley), but also easy to use the shuttle bus if driving is not an option. The room was space efficient but furniture was very comfortable, well decorated and current.

Room Tip: Deluxe room is space efficient however heat/air register blows over head of bed.

We chose this hotel for the price and location, just down the hill from the pricier ski in/ski out rentals. We were not disappointed. Beautifully appointed, immaculate, spacious rooms, with a very luxurious bed, and a gorgeous bathroom - even in the standard rooms. There was even a fireplace! The service was very accommodating and knowledgable about the area. The shuttle to the ski areas comes often, so there's no need to pay to park on the mountain. Lovely heated pool, hot tub, and guy on the premises. From the hotel you can walk to a number of good restaurants and shops.

This place is a real gem. Would definitely stay there again!!

Green Features: We saw recycling bins throughout the hotel. This is a very green place to stay.

Opted for this modern style hotel nearer to The Canyons for our ski week. Room big (413) top floor with hot tub on the balcony we used everyday. Adequate kitchen-we had wholefoods dinners a few nights. Bus very convenient for Canyons and an express into Park City too. Was worried about noise which is mentioned in some reviews - we had room 413 top floor and did hear noisey talking ladies in the adjoining room first thing and at night a few times. Luckily they were not late night revelers but beware you can hear folks in the adjoining rooms.............

It wasn't the cheapest but the option to eat breakfast in the room and some dinners was great - kitchen crockery was lovely! Being Brits we would have liked a kettle but there was a good looking coffee machine we never used.

Free wifi was always fast. If you want to stay in Park City for Main Street don't go here but for modern room, easy restaurants/wholefoods walking distance and you don't mind taking the excellent free bus service to avoid having a car its great.

Room Tip: Top floor for best view - further away from the reception you may be above the pub but we were at th...
