Hotel Park City is a lovely place. Excellent rooms with amenities. Ours had a private hot tub on the balcony, with views of the Wasatch Mountains in the distance.
But there are drawbacks. Foremost is its location. It is some distance from any of the three ski areas (Park City, Canyons, and Deer Valley). Unlike most upscale ski resorts in this predicament, Hotel Park City offers very limited shuttle service to and from the ski areas, so that for the most part you are forced to call a taxi both to get there and to get back. They take up to 30 minutes to get to you. It was very inconvenient. Other drawbacks include a very nice but inexperienced staff (ask them for change of a $20 and you think you have asked them to petition the Federal Reserve Bank for a chance in monetary policy--they take forever and often can't even do it). They were very well-intentioned but somewhat disorganized. Finally, dining options are limited. The only onsite restaurant is a steak house. If you want anything else you are back to the cab situation unless you have your own vehicle.
