The Chateaux Deer Valley

Great location, you can walk to the slopes. You can dine in The Chateaux, across the street at Stein Erickson or take the free shuttle to downtown Park City. There is a small exercise room but adequate. Just as nice as some of the higher priced hotels but at a better price point.

This is the second time I have stayed at this property and I was very happy! It is such a great convenient location to ski Deer Valley at Silverlake: Rental shop in hotel, walk to Stein Eriksen's for dinner, spa, restaurant, free shuttle into Park city every 1/2 hour. We did a "girl's weekend" during the Sundance Film Festival and it was a great option to stay in a more mellow place and then travel into Park City for the fun!

Very Good Experience, Will Stay Again!!! Walking distance from the Mountain, almost as ski in/out facility. Our apartment had a nice mountain view. Very well cleaned.

We stayed there for one night for a summer family getaway. We arrived at 3:30 pm and was told that the room was not ready. And we had to wait for more than one hour to get into our room. There were not many guests waiting - we just saw about 2-3 groups. My 11-month old slept on the couch in the lobby. I did not understand how they took so long to get one room ready - it seemed that they were under manpowered. I think the front desk was trying their best.

The room with two queen sized beds seems a little tight. The room looks a little dated to my eyes. The bathroom is OK. It is very good to have a microwave and dinnerware sets. The restaurant was closed, but the front desk was very helpful to recommend us to the one is Stein Eriksen across the street where we had a fabulous dinner. We also had a good time in the pool and hottub.

This is a nice hotel. The area is beautiful. My rating is based on what expect from a 4-star and what I actually received. I just think it does not live up to the 4-star standard.

The Chateaux is a charming, calming, relaxing facility. The grounds are well-kept, the buildings are attractive and well-decorated. The staff is attentive, friendly and professional.

On the downside, while I know this resort was built for "Fun and relaxation" and not "Work/conferences", I found myself at the Chateaux for business. Unfortunately, the in-room workstation is not very conducive to getting work done for the modern road warrior. The small desk and uncomfortable/stiff living room chair combined with the dark corner made this an uncomfortable place to work. Also, there are not nearly enough power outlets for modern road warrior gadgets.

Still, the soothing atmosphere and accommodating service make this a great place to spend a few days in the Utah mountains.

Just got back from our ski trip and were very happy with the Chateaux. We had a 2 bedroom/3 bath condo and it was perfect for our family of 4. The unit was huge and nicely furnished. The complimentary breakfast buffet each morning was plenty to fuel up for a day of skiing. Although it's not ski in/out it was really convenient to walk across the street to the slopes. And since you can store your skis for free right there in Silver Lake you didn't have to lug them back and forth each day. Easy enough to go back to the condo for lunch each day. We also got a great deal since it was the end of the season.

We stayed at The Chateaux this summer to see if we would want to stay there during ski season. The room we got was very nice and the kitchen had everything we needed to make simple meals (and cookies). The main thing that we didn't like is that it was about 5 minutes drive from downtown Park City. The views of the mountain from our room were incredible and I'm sure its even nicer looking with snow. Over the years, we've stayed in many condo's in Park City/Deer Valley. The Chateaux was definitely one of the nicest, especially because it had a bar & restaurant in the lobby - most other condos don't have that. Plus, there are several excellent restaurants in buildings around The Chateaux. We are definitely going to try it again this winter.
