Owner description: Located in the heart of the restaurants, hotels, nightlife and shopping of one of America's great ski towns, Park City Mountain Resort has something for every snow enthusiast: manicured groomers, ideal learning terrain, powder-filled bowls and some of the industry's most progressive terrain parks and halfpipes.

Wow! This just overtook Beaver Creek (Colorado) as my favorite place.
Pros: Great variety. This kept my intermediate, relaxed skiing husband and oldest son happy on the blues and double blues. My other teenaged son and I enjoyed the wide variety of terrain available, from groomed and ungroomed blacks, to fast wide open double blues and blues, to having fun in the trees. There is something for everyone, and you stay busy.
We felt like we got in a TON of runs here. TONS. You can really cover a lot of ground in a day.
Even Presidents' Weekend when it was BUSY we still never felt crowded and found whole mountainsides where we were the only ones on runs.
Appreciate the fact that they have black diamonds that are both moguls (I don't love these tons, but like some) and also groom a good number of them so you can really rip it down the steep blacks.
Loved the HomeRun run that got you back to the lodge. It's a green run and easily accessed from most of the mountain. Don't turn up your nose at the "green" because it is a riot to start at the very top and just bomb down it all the way to the base (with your ears popping along the way).
PCMR really shines at grooming. We were there when there hadn't been any appreciable snow for a week or more, so grooming was crucial. Canyons this week was a nightmare of ice, but PCMR kept the slopes fantastic and ice-free. They are grooming pros.
Really liked their electronic tickets that you tuck into a coat pocket and no one has to scan you in line. Great!
Super friendly and helpful employees that obviously love their jobs.
So fun to ski into town for lunch (try Devanzas near the townlift).
Their base resort has a huge number of ski shops (my teenagers loved checking them all out).
TIP: Don't pay the rack rate in the ticket line. Before your trip, go to Liftopia.com and purchase tickets at a discount. I saved 25% on our lift tickets for a holiday weekend, and that was only purchasing them 3 days in advance.
TIP: Ski Silverlode chair early in the day. It is the one chair that got really busy on a holiday weekend in the afternoon.

We travelled from Australia to Park City for a skiing holiday on the basis of being able to ski the three ski areas of Park City, Deer Valley and The Canyons during our 12 day stay. For this we expected a ticketing system similar to Aspen/Snowmass or Vail/Beaver Creek with one electronic ticket covering all areas.

What we got was a book of vouchers which required us to line up each day for a day ticket at the particlur resort we were skiing at. This was a significant drawback to the day's skiing especially on the weekend.

The skiing in all three areas was great but the ticketing system let them down.

While it may be an innovative marketing tool by travel agents to get around the separate ownerships of the resorts and their lack of co-operation it is far from ideal and will be a negative for us and our friends when next considering skiing in this area.

We understand the difficulties that you describe in redeeming your Three Resort Passport, but we certainly do not feel that it is a "scam" because it is not (and is not promoted as) a direct to lift product. Unlike the other areas you describe, all three resorts in Park City have separate ownership, and as such, completely different ticketing systems.

For our Three Resort Passport visitors to Park City Mountain Resort we are more than than happy to convert multiple vouchers into a single multi-day ticket so that they can avoid our ticket lines on later days, if this wasn't offered to you, we do apologize. But, while we have had many discussions, our neighbors do both have different processes that guests will need to follow in order to redeem this product.

We apologize for any misunderstanding, we will take your concerns into consideration as we look to next season.

I guess it really depends on what you are going for. If you want "true" skiing, Alta and Snowbird are definitely the best. Park City Mountain Resort is okay, but not necessarily a "locals" favorite.

We love to eat breakfasts at the main lodge because they always have a wonderful selection of meats, eggs, toast, fruits and pancakes and waffles. We have never had a bad meal there including lunch during the day. Great view of the Pay Day lift with a lot of windows and ample sunlight.

Great ski resort, staff are extremely helpful and friendly. Always had a great time, lots of runs, spread out enough that even on busy holidays it doesn't feel crowded. Well maintained trails.
