“Great location & service but #253 has 1 big flaw”
Reviewed January 3, 2011

We loved most aspects of our stay in Unit 253. (Note that the condition of each unit at the Lodge reflects, in part, the individual owner's choices.) The Lodge is at the Park City Mtn Resort base area, so you have ski-on/ski-off access and are steps from shops (mostly outdoorsy gear & rentals), modest restaurants (nothing gourmet, like on Main St.), a small ice rink, and the free shuttle buses that ply the PC area. The Lodge has wonderfully friendly staff, a nice (not luxurious) indoor/outdoor pool with two adjoining hot tubs, a readily available shuttle van and daily housekeeping services.

We stayed in Unit 253, a 2-br, 2-bath with a comfy-king-bed master suite and large, 2-sofa living area (also includes a queen-size wall bed). Nothing fancy, but fully equipped for 8 sleepers if 4 are in the lr. The big flaw (and primary reason for downgrade on "rooms" and "sleep qual": the 2nd br (w/2 twins) seems to be a converted sun room, and was about 10 degrees cooler in December than elsewhere in the apt. Mgr. Zeke tried to fix this, but the only effective option was a portable electric heater. (Because we put our small kids in that room, we decided against that, and instead used extra blankets.) A few small, fixable flaws: the Lodge's free WiFi didn't cover most of the apt, and the gas fireplace's fan was so noisy we rarely used it.

I downgraded "value" because, even based on slope-side location and it being a holiday week, the pricing was high for a non-luxury property. In addition, we paid the same rate as our relatives in #252 (despite that two-level unit's ability to sleep 8 people without anyone being in the living room). All in all, our experience was better than "4" (TripAdvisor's "very good") but not quite a "5."

Very well run lodging experience from check in to check out. Our condo was extremely clean with quality furniture and appliances. Was a joy to come back to after a busy day skiing (us) and snowboarding (the teens) in an excellent area. Lodge really takes pride in their facility and it shows.

We loved everything about our stay at the Lodge. The customer service was excellent and they went above and beyond to help us. They even provided and extra room at no cost for the first night to accomodate a mistake that we made ---it is hard to explain that we arrived very late at night and we could not find one of the beds--. The apartments are clean, nicely furnished and well stocked. We really did not miss anything. The value is well over what we paid. The location is superb, really ski-in and ski-out and all the stores and ski services are located right there; even the bus stop for the bus that will take you into the beautiful Park City old town in just 5 minutes. By the way, the restaurants in the area are very good. We will for sure visit again this year.

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Lodge, and we had an incredible time. The location can not be any better, closer than the best parking spots you can buy. We were right above all sorts of stores and restaurants, but the glass door must be reinforced because it wasn't loud at all (we slept in a little...). The best part is the value. I would never stay anywhere else on the mountain, because why pay more when you're already right there.

Great location, great staff, clean quiet rooms. We stayed at the Lodge at Mountain Village for two nights. The staff is friendly and very helpful. The shuttle is a real help in getting around. The location is right on the mountain and very convenient. I would highly recommend this hotel - it's super!!

Can't say enough great things about the staff at the Lodge. Very accommodating even when I was in a bind. They went above and beyond with great front desk customer service and recommendations. The room was perfect, right next to the slopes. Warm cozy bed (all down feathers I think!). Even got a 20% coupon for ski rental. 5 Stars. Wonderful place to stay you will not be disappointed

Great location, great value. Read the entire post before judging negative reviews.

All I have to say to those incompetent and future concerned stayers, you need to know what you are getting here, as it is a lodge and not a standard hotel, per se. For example, as the staff mentions, every unit is individually owned, staff is limited, front desk closes early every evening and so forth.

Although I did not book directly with the property management, I called ahead to confirm my stay and to understand/clarify what to expect. The staff was more than friendly and helpful, and since it was not a busy weekend, they offered an upgrade right away, and made sure that I would be taken care of. How is this bad service, it is exactly how a good smart business should run. I understand if it is busy, there is no chance to switch your rooms, but is that their fault?

All in all, the location cannot be beat, a truly ski in ski out property with easy free winter access to downtown area (by local bus). No complaints here.
